Headache #2000 or so...

I was trying to sort out my tax return and got a severe pain in my left sinuses... I've done my own tax returns ever since the dawn of time, or maybe it was only 1970. I haven't found them terribly taxing (pardon the pun) but this year, I don't know... I must have miscalculated somewhere because as it stands now, it looks like I owe tax, even though my income is way below the official poverty line. I think I'll just have a nap and come back to it when I have some beer on hand. Obviously, tea didn't help.

I too hate preparing tax computations and returns. We have to pay advance tax before March 15th, and any tax savings before March 31st of each year. This year, tomorrow is the only day of this week that is available to me for tax savings. I am so tense because there is going to be heavy queue in banks tomorrow, and last year, when I took it to the last moment, the banker didnt issue the tax savings certificate..:( I usually prepare a rough computation around April...and then vary it as the year goes by...that way computation at least is ready.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't keep changing the rules and therefore the forms every year.

You seemed not to be in the mood to do that then. You had better take your mind off it for a while if it happens to you next time.

We use the H & R Block software. I have done my own taxes without the software and it was a bit tricky. One wrong line misplaced and the whole thing gets messed up.

Sorry to hear that. Take a walk outside, get some fresh air. Might make you feel better.

I should have gone for a walk instead of attempting it, but I thought I'd have it done and then go for the walk (mailbox is a couple blocks away).

Have you seen a doctor about this or taken any medication? Nonetheless, I think some rest is definitely the best move to make.

I did lay down for a bit but my pussycat wouldn't join me. Now, she won't let me type! (She's laying on my right arm.)

Personally, I think doing Taxes is a HEADACHE, and I could never imagine working somewhere and doing this all the time. It took me a little longer than most yrs. myself. We always get a refund back, or at least for now, so finding all the correct deductions is very vital and important for sure.

You definitely deserve a break, come back and relook at where you might have gone wrong when you are much fresher. I find chocolate helps me, I have never been a tea drinker. I hate filling in any type of form, so I tend to do it in stages, besides my concentration levels aren't always on top form.

Just had a chocolate chip cookie now, and before laying down I had some sort of chocolate-covered coconut confection my friend brought me back from her trip to Florida.

We have been paying for several years now. Taxes are going up, economy is going down. Groceries and everything else you buy is up. You get less for your money. We haven't had a cost of living raise or any other kind of raise here in State Government in 4-5 years. And no I'm not a high official, just one of the pions that does all the work. Hope yours turns out better. I haven't tackled or started to tackle mine yet this year. It's getting to be crunch time though. I'll have to get with the system in the next two weeks! Good luck, and I hope your headache goes away.

Yeah, I hate doing the tax return. Of course I am single with no dependents so I always do the EZ form. I still have to do mine and will probably do that this weekend. I never try to itemize or see how I can maximize my refund because it's too much of a headache. As long as I get a refund and don't have to pay the government any more than they already take is all that matters to me. There is just some stress in life that is not at all worth the money. It's easy to make mathematical errors. I usually recheck mine 2 or 3 times before I send it. I can just imagine what a pain it is to do the long forms.

It took us three days to get ours done with TurboTax. What I didn't realize was that Turbo Tax had changed their printing system. We don't like to file online, so we print and send it. Fortunately, it was all done but printing and signing when I got up the morning of the 15th. That's good, because it took me four hours to figure out how to print it. i had to download Adobe Reader's latest version to see the PDF and print from the PDF. Then for some unknown reason the Windows 7 part of my IMAC wouldn't recognize the printer and I had to work it around so that it could be printing on the MAC side. We got through the copy to file, but not the 161 pages to print the filing copy plus supporting worksheets for our records. I did have to pay self-employment tax even though my cash flow was he worst it's been in years. Only Dark Chocolate Almond Cherry Clusters. Tea and the help of God got me through it with my sanity intact. After it was over, I headed for the vineyards and made the acquaintance of two lovely Maine C--- kitties. MyLot didn't like their real name.

Nothing like a kitty to calm jangled nerves (unless that kitty is doing the jangling, of course).
