Facebook Useful or Not

I see a lot of people joining Facebook this year and many are concerned about the usefulness of the site. Several years ago I joined and its helpful when you have family members on your friend list that you need to contact. I can send a quick message out and let them know I'll be calling and find out when is a good time to call. This saves me time, as I use to try and try to contact certain family members and my cell phone charges me when I'm leaving a message, so saving money as well. I think some people are bothered about the site because some people update their status every hour or what seems like every minute. I deleted people that would cover my news feed to the point that would be the only thing I would see that day. People need to be considerate and realize they aren't the only people in this world. I do play a few games; however, not like when I first joined the site. Its important to not let any game become the only thing you did that day online or off, as some of my offline games can be as addicting as the online. I have printed out and used coupons that were posted on Facebook and have managed to get some free items. I originally joined to get a free item, but now see some other advantages to Facebook, as many of my friends are on Facebook. If people aren't happy with Facebook, then they should leave and join another site, as life is short and its better to be happy every day and I know one person on my friend list that lately has something negative to say every day and I'm ready to delete this person. Its sad to know there is somebody that has to end the day negatively almost every day. I hope others find Facebook useful as I have over the years. The site isn't for everyone, but there are some helpful reasons to join. Have a good day.

Facebook is pretty useful in terms of connecting with friends all around the world and also knowing other people. It also helps me promote my certain money generating activities such as mylot. It really helps me in variety of ways and the best part would be that it is free. :)

I am a member of this site and I could say that facebook does help me with my online earning activity because I could generate views with my articles from my friends there. The site is also a good place to connect with relatives and friends. Although I don't spend much of my time there but it sure can help. Have a wonderful day!

Facebook does help me earn more money. I find there are so many ways to spend time on the site. One of my friends had a baby and the little guy is growing so fast. I get to see regular photos, as he learns to walk. Thanks for posting.

Its the place my whole family connects..we get pictures of brand new babies...so they can just post it and not have to send 28 emails to everyone in the family. My daughter is also building her business by using facebook....I probably could too but right now I have had more then I can handle in orders etc...but if things start slacking then I will use it as a tool to build my business.

My daughter is now using Facebook to increase sales of her crafts. She makes latch hooks and sells them to help pay college expenses. That is so cool that you can see the new babies quickly. I remember the old days the babies would be so big before I would see them. Thanks for posting.

It started out with friendster then multiply and finally facebook. I really just used the site to check on gossips.haha. When i had a partner, I never really used these social networking sites. I am single for a couple of years now and it helped me with my boredom moments.:)

I'll admit several of my friends have commented that Facebook does help reduce boredom. I know it has for me on occasion. Thanks for posting.

I'll admit its not for everyone, as it depends on how you plan to use it. I just mentioned to somebody else that Facebook helps me practice other languages. Have a good day. Thanks for posting.

Facebook has been handy for me in the last two weeks because the person I am needing to get in touch with can email me but she isn't getting anything back from me even when I respond to her email. I might get more variety of news by facebook as the person is writing to everyone.

There is a lot of variety on Facebook and I have friends from different countries. One thing I didn't mention in my post is I have French Friends that help me practice French, as I use to speak the language fluently. Thanks for posting.

Well, for me, there are good and bad, when it comes to being on Facebook. It is pretty cool that you can reconnect with family and friends you might have lost contact with. If not have been for Facebook I would not have gone to my 30th class reunion last month. It is interesting how each person uses this site and good for a lot of different things.

That is great that you were able to attend your 30th class reunion. I'm hoping to be able to attend a 40th, as I know there will be so much to catch up with in our lives for several people. The years go by so fast. Thanks for posting.

I joined Facebook to stay up to date on family members but it really isn't any better than email. My sons email me pictures and call me. My inbox of the email I gave is full of stupid notifications, most of which don't matter to me, and other family members bugging me to do something with a family tree. Facebook also asks me constantly if I know certain people and if so, wants me to "friend" them. Facebook doesn't do anything more for me than I can do with email and I'm sorry I joined. I've heard that it's almost impossible to delete an account, which is why I joined using my dog's name and no other information. I know some people find it addicting and pleasurable but for me it's just been a big hassle.

I know some people do prefer e-mail and I use to be one of them. Lately my e-mail is getting spammed so much with all kinds of unwelcome e-mail. The really bad part is several times e-mails from family and friends have ended up in the spam folder, so now I'm using my Facebook to message family and friends. Thanks for posting.

I have a Facebook account, but I don't use it much. I don't play the games on Facebook and I don't update my status at all. I only visit Facebook when I want to write a message to one of my friends. Sometimes we exchange messages on Facebook instead of exchanging text messages. It is cheaper to use Facebook since I have already paid for my internet subscription. Some of my friends live in other parts of the country and I don't see them that often, so we say in touch through Facebook. I also like to look at the pictures of my niece that my sister-in-law uploads. They live in the south of Denmark and my husband and I live on an island in a different part of the country so I am not able to see my niece very often. I enjoy seeing her pictures and reading the small comments that my sister-in-law and my brother write.

It is cheaper to use Facebook instead of Texting for me also. My brothers were in the military in different countries and would post some amazing photos of the locations they stayed at or places they traveled to during their time stationed in that area. Now several members of the younger generation of my family are in the military, so I still see photos of different parts of the world. Its great to know they are safe and doing well. Thanks for posting.

I agree Facebook does help us stay in touch with other people. It saves me postage, as I write less letters and I'm sure the other person will receive my reply, as with a letter never sure it arrived. Thanks for posting.

I use Facebook like a email client. It's just more easy to find someone or some company and contact with it!

I do send e-mails out to companies, as its one way for a company to learn I think they are doing a great job. Many companies really appreciate hearing this information and send me coupons for my comments. Thanks for posting.

facebook is helpful but it depends on how you will use it.. it can be a fun site since it has lots of games to offer and most of all you can chat and have communications instantly with your love ones or friends.. it can also be a way to promote everything from businesses or even a gathering.. so for me facebook is really a helpful site..

I agree it does depend on how you use Facebook. When I started it was hard to get use to the large number of posts, but that is no longer a problem. I prefer the games I can play alone or with few people. Its nice to just relax by playing. Now I don't miss any post by my family or friends and can make a little money. Thanks for posting.
