Why would I be jealous? Outside of where I grew up, many of the people that I know have been on television for one reason or another--whether it be as part of a news interview, being involved in an event or acting. In my view, being on television really isn't all that unusual.

I was responding to your question according to how you phrased it. If you don't want for people to use "I," perhaps you shouldn't ask how we would personally feel.

I would be happy for him/her. I would not feel jealous but proud. I have few schoolmates that became actors. Also, I had a classmate who started out as a commercial model then a TV actor. I am happy for what they have become. I couldn't see myself on their shoes anyway.

I also most probably might not feel jealous as I am not good at acting or doing commercial modeling.

I believe I would be so excited for them. I have had a similar experience where an old co-worker of mine had written a story for a television series and her name flashed on the TV as the writer. I was so excited and proud of her. Also excited because I know her and it was thrilling to see her story played out on the TV. Especially the fact that she is a sweet and wonderful woman. When someone is a nice person both inside and out I think we are all generally happy for them. At least I know I am.

Hi scubapro! I have several friends who are on TV but not really my close friends. One of them is a famous actress, some of them are commercial models and two of them are rappers/singers. I'm proud of them because of their achievements. I am not jealous because I am happy of my achievements in life too. Hehe.

Of course, I will proud to her or him. I believe that she or he has hard struggle to reach the achievement. Maybe I will call her or him if she or he my close friend in the past, but if he does not my close friend, maybe I just proud him or her. I never jealous, because I trust him that she have hard effort to reach the stage.

Depends on how much a fan I am of the movie or the show. One friend of mine got to be in True Blood. Only as an extra, but still I was very envious and yet ecstatic.

I do know some people from my school days who later become politicians and celebrities. I don't know what I feel exactly when I first found out about it. Jealous is certainly not. Happy? Well maybe a little bit in a way... Proud? Well, I don't know them well enough to feel that. I guess I'd just acknowledge that, yeah... I used to be in the same class with that famous person...

I may be a little jealous of him / her. But then again, I can be successful in different road from him/her too. So that's not a problem w

Well, If I were in your shoe I might get very proud to my batch. He gave an honor with our school and he was so very popular right now. I might get envy a little bit but I guess I will make him as an inspiration to strive harder and to be successful also in the future.

I have one, but she's a schoolmate. She actually became a very popular actress! I'm proud of her. I'm proud that I was able to meet her before she became famous. I couldn't get jealous because acting was never for me in the first place. It probably depends on the circumstances, but hey! as long as she's happy with her profession, it's all good.

Hi ! If i saw my classmate in television , i would be the happiest and proudest classmate . I will tell to the people around that what they saw was a classmate of mine. I will not be jealous but instead i will use it as a motivation to do my best and to be a better person , i may not give such big honor to my classmate but at least they will be able to see that i have made my life worthy , productive and decent.

It's good to see your school friend on TV all of a sudden. It takes you back to old memories and it's a nice feeling. Jealous or proud about him is not the matter. It's the joy that you go through. Why should you feel jealous about him? If you are on the TV and other gets jealous of you, imagine how do you feel? Stay positive all the time and you will lead a happy life.
