Stupid, Fat, Burger Munching, Gun Toting, Bible Bashing, Racist Americans

That is a good generalisation, don't you think? That is what all Americans are, right? Stupid, Fat, Burger Munching, Gun Toting, Bible Bashing, Racist Americans Pretty much like all the French are Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys The Italians are Puny Scooter Riding Greasy Basturds We can't get away with saying things like that - It is offensive and ill informed. Do all Catholics touch up young boys? Nah!!! we can't say that. So why can the press and twitter halfwits label all Muslims as terrorists? I am not one for conspiracy theories, but it does suit our masters if we are split into untrusting groups. If we are always looking over our shoulders at the Muslim neighbours. I know for a fact that Islamic nations use propaganda about the West, about our lack of morals and hatred of the Muslims. They do believe that we support our countries military invasions of Islamic nations. I don't believe any of the statements that I made in my opening.... ...Well maybe the French one is true, can't help it - it is an English thing. If you are American and you believe that you need to tell me that you are not stupid.... Then you are STUPID

Nope...I get your point. How in the world do people judge a whole group of people based on a handful of that group? I don't understand how people can think like that regardless of what they hear or are told without questioning it. It's not uncommon though.

People like a group to back them, even if the group is delusional. I am not sure how those people can sleep with themselves though... it makes much more sense to decide individually. If a stranger were to judge me based off a 10 second exposure to a photo without knowing anything about me, 95% or more of what they would assume would be wrong. This is why I get so irritated about this.

Rob, I don't see how it could be but your're probably right. Mommyboo, I agree 100% with you on that. It reminds me of these people that refuse to ever fall in love again because of one bad relationship or even several. They are pretty much judging an entire gender based on what basically amounts to a very small amount of people. I just can't understand the type of thinking these people do. I just moved into a new apartment a couple months back and right I had several people tell all these negative things about my new neighbor. Nothing concrete that I would listen to such as that she was a thief or anything....just gossipy stuff. Well, guess what..I talk to her when I'm outside and she is a really nice and pleasant person. It makes you wonder how many actually had bad experiences with her or did they just listen to someone else.

International websites like MyLot are great places to dispel that kind of narrow thinking. I am so glad that I have been able to meet all kinds of people via the internet. My life is richer because of it. I still do not agree with all the people I meet. In fact I do not agree with all the Americans I meet or all the conservative Americans I meet. But boy, do I have fun getting to know people here.

I do enjoy getting to know folk from around the world. I do accept that most people are not blinkered. We have had a few of our own Muslim terrorist stories in the UK, but they are a minority

I have always thought that too. I think that we should talk more about these sorts of things and dispel all these myths.

I think it is still here because I never mentioned that Jesus had a tan and he may not have been white. That usually rattles them
