What happens when we die

When we die as a Christian, do you go strait to heaven or is there a waiting place till the first reserection?

Neither. When you die, you die. Even if there was some sort of afterlife, since you aren't able to remember anything before you were alive, there's a good chance you won't notice anything after you die.

We are lightbulbs. When the energy flows, we are alive; but when they flip the light-switch off, the light doesn't 'go' anywhere. That's what happens when we die on Earth; we don't 'go' anywhere, we just stop existing. Supposing these bodies remain intact, we will 'exist' again when God 'turns the lights back on.'
