Why I Watch Hill Street Blues

Having switched to antenna, and largely retro t.v. these days, I've come across a show that aired back in the late 70's, early 80's(?). I never got to watch it back then. I saw maybe an episode, possibly two. Now I watch it whenever I get the chance, which I'm hoping will be most week day evenings. I've only started to watch it and haven't gotten real hooked yet, but I like to watch it because my mother in law used to love that show. And she was a smart lady, so I figure it must be a pretty good show.
Are there shows which remind you of someone?

I used to watch that show every week when it was on TV. It was one of my favorites at the time.

I have to say I loved that show. I wish they would play the re-runs here. Lots of action and excitement. I believe that show received many Emmy Awards.

Would you believe I have never seen that show? But I still watch I Love Lucy, despite having seen every episode so many times I couldn't count them all - been watching all my life - and that show is from the 50s. I watch lots of old TV, I love it.
