I keep forgetting about my trees...

I stopped at the local apple orchard today. I wanted to buy some fresh fruit, and I thought it best to stop at the local farm instead of buying it at the grocery store. We bought a bag of apples. So we get home and we're walking in the house and hubby points at our crab apple tree. He says "I think we have an apple tree right here in the yard" I said "No, those are crab apples" He picked one and ate it and said "No, I'd say these are Macintosh apples"... so I have an apple tree right in my own yard but I bought a bag of apples. I also have a pear tree out back, but I keep forgetting that it's there. Most of the pears are too high to pick anyway. One of these days when we have some time I'll get out the ladder and go pick some of the fruit for the kids. I wish I had a peach or plum tree, those are my favorite fruits.

My 7 and 9 year olds like climbing the trees, so they could probably get up there and get some of the higher ones. Or else I have some step ladders around to get them also.

The best thing about apples trees are apple blossoms in the spring. Who cares about the fruit?

I wish I had some fruit trees, and plan to try and plant some.
