I am loving myLot for including this on their guidelines. Please do not laugh at me when you cannot fully understand the thought that I am relaying on my posted discussions. I am pretty sorry for my not so good English grammar/spelling! And to all my friends/followers who keeps on commenting.. please accept my warm and big 'THANKS!' Hoping a great weekend to everyone!

The important thing is to be understood. Mind you, you can get quite a good conversation going when people keep asking questions about what it is that you meant to say - this could go on for quite a long time if the person then needs to ask for a further "translation" of your reply!

As long as we understand what it is meant by the writing.

As long as we can get the gist of what someone is saying, I don't worry about their grammar. I didn't even know that English wasn't your first language, so I don't think you have need to worry.

I would expect a certain standard of English from people whose native tongue is English. However, expecting such a level from someone who is using English as a second or third language would be totally unreasonable.

@wiLLmaH To me it is simple common sense. I would struggle to survive using broken Spanish, so I understand the problems that people have.

@Asylum i am glad you are like that. Because in reading responses in here in myLot and comments in Bubblews some people are inconsiderate.

I think you do very well, and I wouldn't make fun of a poster who didn't write English well. Besides, it's against myLot rules to do so.

That is good of myLot but nothing like reading a post, a comment or a response that has good grammar and spelling. You are not bad at all compared to so many who cannot even frame a sentence.

Practice makes perfect and as long as you can get your point across the rest is immaterial. You keep at it and good luck!

I think communication is more than having good English. There are people with perfect command of English but do not know how to communicate their ideas well. They are full of empty words and useless words.

What I love about Mylot, In places like Postloop, I have to pressure my self to make sure my grammar is correct. Meanwhile here in Mylot I can be my self.

I admit I am not still fully adept in the English language and still learning how to use it appropriately so no need to criticize as long as I can understand it,that's all that matters.

I like that Mylot has this in it's user guidelines. As others have said before me, it's the message the poster wishes to send, not the grammar and punctuation, that are important. If ESL, then post as much as you like, and have fun, meet new people and enjoy yourself while you learn :)
