This mother who recently lost 177 pounds due to congestive heart failure was made fun of in a coffee shop while waiting to buy doughnut holes for her daughter and a coffee for herself. She heard two women whispering insults about her looks and calling her a “whale.” They also were saying oh look at her hair it's nasty looking and the roots are coming in. The woman instead of lashing out at the ladies decided to buy them coffee instead and to show her daughter how to set a good example. How many of us would buy these nasty ladies coffee?

I would have turned around at the women..those aren't ladies, and looked at them and asked them why they feel the need to bully me?..How would they like it if i did that to them?..I'm sure it would still work out fine instead of buying them coffee..and what will that baby remember anyway?

I know what I would have done but I think this mother did the right thing and the child at years old could remember this incident.

No, I don't think I would have paid for their coffee. I know it was nice of her to be th e"better" person, and that the women were probably shocked when they found out they had had it paid forward to them. But... I don't think that being a nasty person should be rewarded. Those women just learned that even if they are hateful, they will still get nice things.

I think they have learned a lesson, don't talk about people as you never know what will happen.

@Shyamalaa I am afraid I would have turned around and said something to them, something not so nice.

Probably you are right. If they were sensitive enough to learn a lesson from a good deed, they probably would not have behaved the way they did in the first place.

Well, looking at the picture, the women does not look fat. A bit chubby, but thats it. And her hair is fine. Not many people would buy those nasty people coffee. But she obviously felt that that was the thing to do to show her daughter how to handle stupid people.

She wanted to show her young daughter the correct way to handle this type of person and I bet they didn't know what to think of her buying them coffee.

@Marcyaz I bet they were shocked to say the least. and taken aback. But I have no time for ignorance, so I would never have done that.

That is nice I guess. But I am not for that sort of thing at all. I would give them what they deserve not be nice to them. I wouldnt yell or fight with them, but I would keep my dignity. That doesnt achieve anything. They are without compassion and will stay that way those sort of people. I do not believe kindness cures all people.

Different people handle things in different ways but think of how those ladies must have felt after making all those nasty remarks and her than buying them coffee.

@Marcyaz I agree. I think those women are just bored or unhappy with their lives.

The woman did it for herself, not for the baby who's too young to understand anything. Something fishy in this story!

I agree with you @MALUSE. The language she used on her Facebook page wasn't so generous.

I saw that, but then I saw that she'd written some nasty stuff on her Facebook page, too, so she wasn't all goodness and light. On the other hand, I don't know if I believe it because she said they were middle-aged ladies. I would have believed it if she had said they were teenagers. I don't think adults would behave that way. I think she made it up to be famous. That's how terrible a person I am.

I think that even middle aged ladies are worse then teenagers as they do like to gossip, at least most of them.

Not many people would do that, I'm sure some would pick a fight. I bet it shut those ladies up though

I can't understand why some people would do that. That is so mean! I certainly wouldn't have gotten them coffee or anything, after saying such things about her.

That is very nice of her. To turn the tables like that is extraordinary. I hope the nasty ladies thought about it later.

This is popularly called Gandhigiri in India! It is shown in a movie in which the protagonist sends flowers and get well soon cards to the person who keeps harassing him! Sometimes it can work better than confrontation.
