I Finally Found Her

Finally Found

This three month old was burned as a baby, she had rolled off a couch onto a boiling steam vaporizer. The burns would require many reconstructive surgeries over the years. "Growing up as a child, disfigured by the burns, I was bullied and picked on even tormented." For 38 years, a few black-and-white photographs of a nurse cradling a baby provided comfort to a woman who suffered terrible burns and endured years of playground taunts and painful surgeries thereafter. All her life, she wanted to thank the nurse who showed her such loving care, but she didn't even know her name. With the help of Facebook she was able to get in contact with the nurse who so lovingly cared for her all those years ago and they met face to face.

This is a fantastic story Marcy. The nurse was so caring and loving and I dont blame the girl for trying to find her. So glad they were able to meet up.

I saw this and I think it was wonderful for her to have those photos all her life, to feel cared for and loved. Even nicer now that she has met the woman.

That is a wonderful find. Imagine finding that nurse. That had to be like finding a needle in a haystack. I am assuming the picture is of the purse on the right side of the picture and the child on the left. all grown up and looks great. This is a great story.

@inertia4 I saw a picture of her a little closer up and she still has some scaring on her face but it is not too bad at all. The specialists did a great job of surgery.

A lump in the throat and a tear in my eyes, I feel so wonderful when I read how people meet after such a long time and are able to hug and talk about a tragic time in their lives.

Aw...nurses can be so caring. And nice of her to want to trace her back. It must feel terrible to be troubled like that. I wonder why we humans have that trait.

That is such a sweet story. I can kind of identify with the burned girl. I was never burned but I did have an accident where I have permanent scars on my left leg. I was never bullied about the scars, but I did go through a time when I felt self conscious but now I am not self conscious anymore. I look at them and realize now that they represent God healing me and saving my life.
