Fall chill has begun

This week our bliss of being in the 60-70's has come to a close. It's only going to get into the 50's. It's time to break out the fall coats and accessories. The hard part is getting the kids to wear what they need to as the temps gradually continue to drop. A friend was commenting that alot of kids on the play ground didn't even have a hoodie on.... Hard to say if it's the child who refuses to wear one ( I have one of those... only wears hoodies even in the coldest part of winter), a child who's parents haven't taken the time to take out any winter gear, or they just plain don't have anything that fit them right now. What are you wearing now that the chill is here? your kids? Mine are in hoodies and I have a fleece zip up til the temps get closer to freezing then we'll move up to coats.

I don't envy you for those kind of temps at all. I would prefer temps in the 60-70's all year. Like most I don't look forward to winter. Yes it can be lovely but heating bills are nuts and I enjoy sitting outside in the fresh air in decent weather.

@Hatley I can't imagine what winters were like in South Dakota I imagine much worse than here in Wisconsin. It's amazing how fast you can get used to it. As long as the wind isn't blowing it's typically not bad.

We are slowly adding longsleeves to our wardrobes here now that the winds have picked up with the drop in temps.

@Hatley A light jacket is needed here today as well. Truly if it wasn't for the wind and if it wasn't overcast it would be just fine out. How the lack of sun makes the difference in the chill in the air. This morning at the bus stop with the kids I could feel the cold into the bones of my hands and I was outside maybe 10 minutes at most.

I've been reminding the boys to wear sweaters in the morning, but when I picked them up from the sitter tonight she told me they got off the bus with no sweaters on. Then because they were running around while I chatted with the sitter, they took their sweaters off when we got in the car. It's been cold enough lately I'm tempted to break out the actual winter coats... or maybe that's just my fever talking!

Yeah my kids are the same way. They go to the bus stop sometimes with out a hoodie and then decide Mom was right and needed to put their hoodie on. Though some mornings with the wind you almost do need a winter coat.

Here in the midwest of the US the fall season is approaching. Our temperatures are dropping and winds are picking up. In the next 6 weeks time if not sooner we will have snow on the ground and people need to start preparing their homes and changing their wardrobes out to reflect the change in temperature.

@Hatley One can feel cold at 60 especially when your body has been used to the warmer temperatures of summer.
