Well, after buying my new blender the other day I really do have smoothies on the mind still. I made a banana one the other day, my favourite, but unfortunately used up the last banana in the house for breakfast this morning. I decided to try a new combination for a lunch smoothie today, one I've never had before. I combined almond milk, a pear - cored but not peeled, and some passionfruit yoghurt. The end result was one of the most refreshing smoothies I've ever had. I think I'll have to experiment with flavour combinations more often. Are you good at experimenting, or do you tend to stick with the tried and tested?

Good on you. I experiment with quick cook meals, the one pan variety. But I'm not so inventive at using unfamiliar flavour combinations at times.

I am not a huge fan of fruits so I don't mix them a lot.

@valmnz I have never had almond milk but don't think I will try it since I am not a milk drinker.

That was the first time I'd used almond milk and I rather liked it.

I am experimenting on some soup right now. They'd better like it because it's what they are getting.

That combination sounds lovely - i dont like bananas so the almond mild, pear (I Love) and the granadella yoghurt - (it is passionfruit isnt it) can be wonderful.

I like to try it too. The only reason that stops me from making smoothie is that i have to clean up after it. It seems too much of an effort to make a smoothie. I might as well just eat the fruits, since the nutritional value is the same, and I can save on the washing.

Ha, ha, it just takes a quick rinse under the tap to clean up.

I am experimenting with smoothies, I like creating different combinations. I am visiting those healthy eating sites sometimes and find the right combinations of fruit. My problem is that I forget what I added after a few days and I can't make the same smoothie again. I think I should print the recipes.

I always experiment.. I love banana and almonds as a base .. apples, straw berries , blue berries. all make it special. I sometimes add some basil or cucumbers too, but would be around lunch time.

I stick with the tried and tested, I must say I think pear and passionfruit would be delicious! I do love all berry mixes though.

I've never tried making a smoothie with yogurt. Usually I just throw all my fruit in with some milk

I like experimenting but I don't make smoothies. Can't say why not. Maybe I should try.
