What would you think of a company that raised the price of a drug from $13.50 a pill to $750? Would you think they were price gouging? You would be right. There are several orphan drugs that have been around for a long time that have been bought by entrepreneurs who feel that since they are the only ones producing a drug they can charge whatever they want.
Not only is this a scandal, it is immoral. How long is medicare or insurance companies going to be able to pay these charges? Do you think this should be illegal? I certainly do. Should a few greedy individuals be able to bankrupt the system?

I can't believe that someone is allowed to hurt so many people that way, it is terrible.

Yes, I do think it should be illegal. Our government seems to be all about control until it comes to something like this. There is a denture reliner product that I bought for something like $7 a tube. The company sold it to Merck, who now sells the product for $69! They don't care about people who can't afford it; all they care about is their own greed.
