Water isn't Free

Just saw an article saying " Aquafina admits it is selling just filtered water" So all those years we were just buying water from the tap..and paying for it. I wonder how many people are going to claim some kind of disease from it now? Well if you want to find me i'm filling up old bottles and selling on the corner..

I don't buy water since I already pay for the water I have. We have a whole house water filtration system and the water is fantastic.

@AbbyGreenhill Smart homeowners you are. My landlady has a filtration system here, too. She has to flush it out every so often, but most of the time, the water is great.

I hate Aquafina. In fact, I just buy the bottles of generic water. It is probably filtered water too, but it tastes better than my tap water.

Do you not pay for your tap water? We pay an arm and a leg for it over here in the UK. Evian, which is french owned bottled water and available all over the world is actually the word 'naive' spelt backwards. Says it all really.

@Rosekitty @Orson_Kart Some of us pay for tap water, and some of us do not. I have a well, so I do not pay for water. If you are on town or city water, though, then you do have to pay for it.

I remember the line from the movie Ugly Truth where Gerard Butler's character says "bottled water is the same thing as filtered tap water", and apparently that line is actually correct.

Aquafina and dasani are the same..they have Pws on the label that stands for Public water supply so avoid them at all costs..

@Rosekitty Me either. When bottled water first came out, I thought it was odd that you would pay for something that you normally got for free in certain places.

@Rosekitty I only get water if I am out and want water to drink, like on a trip. I try and take my own but sometimes you just have to get a bottle, then I get whatever is cheapest, (not ozarka, even though the others prob do the same thing)

It's amazing how many people still fall for the hype. Granted, there are places around here where the well water is not drinkable. It's foul-tasting, because homeowners don't put the filtering systems in that they're supposed to. City water, however, is treated, and is perfectly safe to drink. The other hazard of bottled water comes from the fact that some of the plastics used in the bottles themselves contain bisphenol-A, a toxic chemical that many companies are now removing from baby bottles and other containers designed to hold food. When I want water, I turn the faucet on. It is exactly what Poland Spring, Aquafina, Dasani and many of the other big companies are doing anyway, and making a fortune at.

I kind of knew this water thing to be a farce. Our ancestors never had it. Why sudden fear of diseases? So I never bought filtered water. Instead I bought a filter. As far as water borne diseases are concerned, we have not had any.

I have heard that in bottled water there is some damage to us. Mostly because the plastic in it reacts with water to make very hazardous chemicals that damage our kidneys a alot.

Wasn't Coca Cola also done for the same thing some time ago in a new bottled water product, they'd conjured up.... strange how all these 'important' stories are nicely brushed under a convenient carpet, when big businesses are involved, not only in cheating the public...they do that all the time... but when they are found out!!
