Eating left over Halloween candy for breakfast. Are you doing the same?

I think what you put in your body is important. This morning, I'm having left over Halloween candy for breakfast. Along with my coffee, it contains all of the major food groups: caffeine, chocolate, carbohydrates, and protein. I'm focusing on KitKat and Reece's Pieces, to make sure my diet is balanced. We never have too many trick-or-treaters in this neighborhood, so I always have some candy left over. What do you do with your left over Halloween candy?

I always groan at 'what I had for breakfast' posts, but for this I will make an exception

I don't observe Halloween so I don't have leftover candy. I do like your idea of the four major food groups.

Of course, you can't let candy sit around too long. :)

Glad I was not the only one having candy for breakfast. Actually all of us did and even today I had some for breakfast! I had Reese'e Pieces for breakfast today. My kids did not get as much chocolate as they usally do though so we will have to settle for other kinds as well Lol - I am hoping on Friday there are still some on sale at stores because we will be buying more chocolate for us haha

@TheHorse Yes it is! I do find it funny though because I am not actually a big fan of chocolate and people find that weird but I never have been, though when it comes to Halloween and Christmas my sweet tooth kicks in for just a little while

Not the best of breakfasts, but, yeah, that was my breakfast as well. I did not get any trick-or-treaters at all.

I miss the days when they came in droves. I think parents perceive the world as "less safe" these days and have predetermined houses to which they bring their kids.

@TheHorse I believe that is true–especially when you hear things like someone putting razor blades and such in the candy.

@bobo2500 Nor have I for some reason. But I do have a weakness for ice cream in milk--sort of like a shake that's not shaken.

@TheHorse I always let him have first pick, he never eats more than a piece or two at a time. He's just never been a big fan of sweets.

I think this post is hilarious about a balanced diet. We have been snacking on candy throughout the day. Plan to let the kids run out this massive sugar rush in a little bit.

@TheHorse Luckily, yes. It has a little bit of chill, but cold activates brown fat cells! :D

I wasn't expecting any kids to show up but I bought one bag of candy just in case. Of course, no one showed up and we ate it, but not until after 8pm on Halloween.

I see eating it as a duty. There are children starving in...somewhere.

I'm not going to lie, I've allowed my kids and I to have a candy or two in the morning. I try to make sure they have something else to eat as well, but I'm guilty of having some candy.

I've read that the "sugar rush" is a myth anyway. A little candy never killed anyone (unless allergies were involved).

For the past five years, there have been no trick or treaters, but yet I still buy candy. Perhaps this would be the year someone actually comes by and rings up for some free candy. Okay, who am I kidding? It's just an excuse for me to buy some candy for myself to eat after hallway. Do I need an excuse really? I don't really eat it for breakfast....but I do have a piece with my lunch and one with my dinner. And one for a mid-morning snack if I'm feeling a bit stressed. Of course, the best time to buy Halloween candy is always after Halloween because it's always marked down. It won't make it to next year, even if it could keep, but hey, what a steal!
