@allknowing Like you, I follow everyone who follows me. If they do end up spamming or being rude I can always remove and even block them. @SIMPLYD and I have been connected a long time. I only think I have ever had to block one person and he was my friend from the old myLot, but he got strange.

I totally agree! I follow only two people and they are involved with taking care of the site, the others I find them in posts that I read. If they show up on my posts then I read their stuff if I like it.

Usually when i see a new one in my one or two of my posts , commenting relatively , i go to his / her profile and read it to get to know more of him / her and follow .

@artemeis That's the stairs going to the second floor where our office is . Husband will be at another set of stairs after passing by our office . That's the famous landmark of our province , Mayon Volcano , an active volcano.

Indeed , our friendship is since 6 years ago here , am i right ?

I am just the opposite, but after seeing this discussion, I am only going to follow them after they have interacted with me for a time. I guess i want as many followers as I can get, but really, that can be a bad thing. I will start doing things differently from now on. Thank you for posting this discussion, as I now know what I need to do.

I have noticed the same, people follow me, but it seems they did not even take the time to read one of my discussions. I check the profiles and the discussions before following people. If they are cheaters or spammers, I do not follow.

Yeh, it's a reason why I don't follow back right away anymore-it's kind of annoying and I learnt my lesson at bubblews when that used to go on.

but why did you block them outright , my friend? You should have ignored them and give them the chance to read some of your posts when they notice you are not returning their follwoing you. tha's what i do to those like that .

I haven't worried about it too much in the past, maybe I should. What has happened often is the one that follows but doesn't read soon looses interest and you never see them again.

Oh, love the volcano, we were just studying about volcanoes and how they are made and which ones are active, etc... Yes I agree and when I see someone started following me, I won't follow back unless he or she had at least commented on one of my posts. Not that I think everyone should comment, but if one is following me, there are a couple reasons why. 1) He or she saw something I wrote and was interested (hence, then a comment would be appropriate) or 2) Some just follow others hoping that member would comment on his or her post and he or she won't reply back. (In other words, those who post and do not interact with others). So, either way, if the follower doesn't comment, I can assume reason number 2 is why and I won't follow back.

Really ? That's an active volcano actually . It explodes more or less every 10 years . That's a lso a very nice way of following . we should really be discerning on who to follow here . This is like one big family so everyone should help one another in one way or another.

@SIMPLYD When you follow someone you give them access to you via the message system so we should make sure it's someone we wouldn't mind getting to know better. If they never even read a post, that's not the person I want on my list.

yes you are right some people just follow without reading post or comments they think that if they follow you then you also follow them,some are also that kind of who just like our discussion or comments but not reply so i am still not understand if they like us then not comments because if you like it means you see something good in it and must have to reply.

when somebody follows me but there are no notifications of activity from him/her to my discussions, I do like what you do too--- I connect back when he/she reads one of my articles.
