Are You a Breakfast Person

I am a breakfast person who has married into a family of "feed me later" people. I try to get hubby to eat something, though, because he does not eat a big lunch. When we get up at 5, I need to eat by 6:30. Often hubby will just eat a couple of peanut butter sandwiches at lunch but this week he has braunschweiger, so we had peanut butter on pumpkin bread this morning. It was not too bad, but it would have been better on homemade pumpkin bread. I would rather eat eggs and meat, but that may end up being my lunch. I am enough of a breakfast person that I really enjoy it for lunch. I had oatmeal one day last week for lunch. So, first breakfast and first two cups of coffee are behind me. I need to see what else I can get done with my day.

When we grew up on the farm, breakfast was quite a large meal. I still like breakfast and usually have porridge which fills me up till lunchtime.

That takes me back to breakfast when we would visit my grandparents. They had 160 acres with both live stock and garden. We had "EVERYTHING"--eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, biscuits, butter, red eye gravy, home made jams and preserves. Wow!

@GardenGerty Breakfast when I was a kid at my grandma's always smelled so good,it would pull me out of bed.I could smell the bacon and eggs frying, and the coffee perking. I would sit down to biscuits, gravy, bacon, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and milk and sugar, with a little bit of coffee in it. I was a big boy, at age 5.

@GardenGerty Everyone did a lot of physical work then. By morning tea (10am ish) we were all ready to sit down for a few minutes and have tea and cake.

Both my hubby as well as myself need a cup of coffee to get going in the morning. I only need 1 cup, he'll finish the pot! He doesn't eat until his lunch, but I need a dish of cereal or an English muffin or something on my stomach because I take quite a few meds in the morning.

I just need to eat. I do want food in my stomach before I take any vitamins. I will have at least two cups of coffee. I worry because my husband is losing weight from not eating.

In Europe breakfast is never a large meal, I mean we usually have toasted bread and jam or a croissant, no eggs or meat.

This is our pattern too unless we have guests in which case we'll offer them a cooked breakfast.

Yes, I remember the first time my ship stopped in Naples, Italy, Having stayed overnight in a fancy Hotel, I was sooo hungry next morning. When the Staff sent up the free breakfast, I looked at it and like. What?? Bread?? Haha, I too was from the farm and used to, well, everything, 'specially my favorite, sausage gravy and fried tators. Incidentally, I did finally get used to light breakfasts. not anymore though. you know what they say about taking the boy out of the country?

@Robert57 That is why it is a continental breakfast. I guess what we like is called the full English Breakfast.

Most mornings I eat toast or English Muffin not so much because I'm hungry, but I don't want to get a headache from not eating.

Hubby would not even do that if I did not insist. I think he feels better when he does eat, but he is a social eater who needs someone to eat with him.

I don't get hungry in the morning. When I'm working I do tend to bring a snack with me as I do start to get hungry around 10 though lunch isn't until 12. Though I'm up at 6 so needing to eat by 10 doesn't classify as needing breakfast.

My son is at work by five. He does a snack thing on his way to work and then a breakfast at his first break. He works ten hour days so he has a lunch and a second break as well.

i am not a breakfast person . sometimes i will take breakfast but it is not a must for me. I take lunch at 12.30 pm and skip evening beverage or snack. and light dinner at 9 pm . in this way i am used to it.

I do not always do the full breakfast but eat eggs most days due to a short and light lunch at work. At four this morning I got up because I had a lot to get done and I was hungry. I ate raisin bran then and I just finished two eggs at 6:45. I will probably eat peanut butter sandwich, dried fruit and a cheese stick at noon.

Yes, I am a breakfast person. I will have it everyday because it is one of the most important meals in a day. Most of the time I prepare for the breakfast for my husband and son. I will make different breakfast everyday so that they don't get tired of eating the same food all the time. I pay attention to it.

@GardenGerty I seldom ask my husband to cook because I don't think we like his cooking very much He is good at cutting food instead, so I often ask him to slice the potato etc.

For most of my life I have skipped breakfast. Now, I don't feel good if I don't eat a little something in the morning. Usually it is just toast or something similar. We often eat breakfast at around noon.
