Did anyone else get a solicitation email from a writing site called SkyPip?

I got an email from SkyPip the other day, saying they'd raised their rates to $00.005 per read, and lowered the minimum payout to $5. I remember getting an email from them as Bubblews was dying. I was turned off by the bad English in the email, and did not even consider signing up. The more recent email was a bit better written, but there were still errors suggesting it was written by a non-native English speaker. Has anyone else received a similar solicitation? I wondered where they got my email. Has anyone gone so far as to try the site? Frankly, my assumption was that it would be another scam, like that site that copied Bubblews's format and then disappeared with our ad revenues, paying nobody.

I got one as well, and yes, I was foolhardy enough to have a look around CGPG, but decided to stick with the frothy site that is no more at the time. SkyPip sounded too much like Skype for me to follow it up.

So it could be that CGPGallery is the culprit. Could be the same perps for all we know.

@TheHorse Who knows where these places harvest your e-mail address from? None of it is encrypted, so they could snaffle it off any mail relay in between you and your e-mail buddies.

@pgntwo True, I reckon. But how do they do that?

I have checked the site and it reminds me so much the defunct CGP Gallery. I have checked the records, the registrant of the company seems to be James R. Reyes from Texas, the company is new, it was registered the last August 16th.

@TheHorse GCP never paid, I am not sure if Seraphicinsight paid real members or they only pay the few that try to recruit users. Anyway I did not like that site and for the moment I only write here.

Hmm. I wonder if they bought CGP or something. But then they would have bought the money owed as well. I won't be visiting SkyPip, but I hope someone reports back if they actually do pay.

I have had several over the last few months. I think the name of the guy in charge sounds familiar. I would have to hear from people who are signed up before I would consider it. I am afraid it may be a revamp of one of the failed sites.

it could be a disgruntled Bubbler looking for "revenge." Or maybe even someone affiliated with the CGP Gallery scam. Who knows?

Let us know when they pay--or don't. Have you written enough there to earn "payout"?

I have and I keep deleting the email without opening it. I'm afraid there will be something bad in an email that is not expected. I doubt I will every open it. I should goggle it and ask how they got my email???

@TheHorse Don't forget the part where you have to send them a 10grand money order in order for them to retrieve the money due you.

It sounds like a couple of people have already signed up. Maybe they'll report back here in a month or two.

I've received it, too. I'm assuming that they're purchasing the list from somewhere, because they used a (nonexistent) address that I've only used for completing offers. It's an old one, too... I haven't used it in at least two years, maybe a bit more.

I wonder where they're buying the emails from. Did you sign up for that ill-fated site, CGPGallery? As @owlwings pointed out, they're a prime suspect.

I have been receiving those emails off and on for several months now. Some people were speculating that it was from the same people who had the cgp gallery site.

i have never gotten that email. A writing site should not be sending out mail with poor English in it. It does not sound like a winner. i just searched it and looked at the terms of service. The English was barely passable. I am the shiek of the burning sands. I am dying of cancer and only have a few months to live. I have all this money and need to sneak it out of the country. God told me you are the one. He did not tell me your information. Please send copies of your birth and marriage certificates, bank statements, pay pal accounts, passport, drivers license, social security card and your medical records. Include a blood sample and a lock of hair from your first born.

@TheHorse Yes I did. I couldn't remember the name of it. I reached payout but didn't get paid. I had another think about London Brokers last night as it is pretty quiet here but that's not a social site - just writing simple background stuff for businesses.

I have not received it. I do not have a trust in new website. I think if this site is really good, I will wait till others have been paid for a few months before i join. I do not want to waste time on a site that does not pay, and will close down.

After Bubblews saga, now I have become extra careful. Moreover, it is too difficult to be able to manage too many sites at a time.

The writing in the first email I got from them was even worse than what I saw from Avi Dixit. I was thinking maybe CGP Gallery folks. Or maybe a disgruntled Bubbler who wanted a piece of the pie.
