Can you believe Christmas will be here day after tomorrow! I have the turkey cooked and some desserts in the freezer. Tomorrow I'll bake pies, assemble casseroles and finish getting ready for the kids to come home.
We have our big dinner on Christmas Eve, then eat leftovers on Christmas Day. Are you ready for Christmas? Oh, our granddaughter will be 26 tomorrow and I'll be....a little older on the 29th!

I'm not ready at all, especially since plans keep changing due to work schedules, etc. We are having our dinner on Christmas Eve this year and we do mass at 5pm on Christmas Eve so I am a little panicky about how things are going to go. I've had my turkey in the fridge since Monday and it's still not thawed, so I took it out of the fridge. You made your turkey in advance? How does that work?

@1creekgirl It's still cold but thawed now so I put it back in the fridge. My sweets didn't turn out though.

@1creekgirl I was making candy cane chocolate bark. I melted the chocolate chips and poured them in a pan and refrigerated to set. I then proceeded to melt the white chocolate chips and they wouldn't melt. I spread a doughy mixture of white chooclate chips on top of the chocolate chips which started them to melt again. It's not great but we'll still serve and hopefully eat it.

@1creekgirl We don't have the special food at Christmas, but we have a tradition of eating apples on Christmas Eve

Yes, I cook and slice the turkey and ham and day before. I wouldn't have the oven to cook the rest of the menu that day if I didn't!

First, happy birthday to you and your grand daughter. Second, I can not wait for it to be freaking Christmas already! I am the type of person who won't stop wanting to find out and open their presents all the way up to Christmas day! A trait that annoys my family lol. I am so ready!

@1creekgirl We had above average temps then got smacked hard with nasty cold and nastier ice and snow on roads and our long driveway. I'm having horrid trouble getting hubby to work.

My Mother in Law does all the meal prep for the big day, which is probably a good thing, because of my current job. I'll be working right up to about 7pm on Christmas eve!
The presents are taken care of, except for the ones we have to build that "santa" will be bringing. Oh, and I do cook a ham on Christmas morning to add to all the other food my MIL cooks.

I'm ready!!! (I think). I'm going to venture out to Wal-Mart in the morning, but only to pick up some food items to prepare Christmas dinner! I hope I can get in and out of there in one piece!
