Did you read the book or see the film? I did neither but there was a lot of fuss here when they were released last year and now tonight it is being shown on television. I am not sure whether to watch it ir not

I have neither read the book or seen the film either, although I have heard the name mentioned many times. I would not even have a clue as to what the story relates to.

I added a link to my post explaining it better. Strange that you are naware of it as it was hugely promoted here but I wasn't interested in seeing it at the cinema. I don't like going to the cinema and am convinced that I can catcjh up with all of the films in eh comfort of my own home inmy old age.

@mysdianait That certainly does not look like my kind of film at all, so I will give it a miss.

I did not read any of the books but I did see the first movie. I found myself to be drawn to it and found myself hooked from the very beginning. Can't wait for the next movie to come out. Perhaps I should read the books.

Oh the general feeling here in the responses is that it was not worth watching. Now you have made me interested to see it one day

All I know is that the movie was banned in India. Havent gone into depths but they said it has too much of s-x. As I do not read much (the novels books biographies etc), I did not care to find any of those either.

Ah it was/is bad enough to be banned there? Odd that it is being shown on television in the evening in that case

Many scenes in many films are pathetic these days and that is one of the reasons that I stopped going to the cinema some years ago. A waste of time and money!

@mysdianait They are planning to redo the Certifications and Ratings for the Movies here in India. If they have it their way, things would be similar to the west and that might make things easier.

I have read a few pages of the book in a bookstore, I found it boring. If you want to have a look, you can find the hot scenes and plenty of trailers on YouTube. This movie it's not what I like.

From the responses here I think it must have been highly over-rated and not really worth watching at all. I am so pleased that I did not waste both my time and money to see at the cionema and I am now in no hurry to see it on television either.

@mysdianait For what I have read, the movies was worse than the book. I do not think it's worth watching.

That is what most people seem to feel here in the responses and I am pleased that I decided not to watch it. There will be another day in the future when they will show it again I'm sure.

I read the first book. I never got a chance to read the rest. I wanted to see the movie just out of curiosity to see if it would live up to the book.

I watched this movie but I don't think it is a nice movie. Since I don't know what's wrong with the girl in this movie. Her behaviors are just weird in my opinion. It doesn't make a sense and I don't buy this story.

I think that if you buy the book or see the movie, you are helping to create a bigger market for the exploitation of women.

I will do neither of those but I might have watched it on television - but that was before reading the opinions here. Now I will not do that either.

I read the book and nearly fell asleep. I saw the movie and it just made me depressed! I think each person probably has a different view of it. I think I would have liked the movie if the last 20 mins weren't included.

Doesn't sound promising - though I would have to watch it all to know when the last twenty minutes had arrived

I tried to read the book but after 40 pages I gave up as it's utter crap. Seems like it was written by a GCSE English student with 0 talent Certainly won't be watching the film.

I did neither but I had read the plot line over wikipedia and imdb. Its based on BDSM and had a dark theme which is what has caused so much stir around the movie. I am not sure about watching it or not.

I decided it was more fun here and didn't watch it. I doubt whether I will ever see it as, from the comments here, there are many others that I would rather see before I get round to it.
