I went to a store nearby to see what was wrong and heard that they have the same problem in Finland due to the cold weather. Let's see how long this will last. At least the electricity and Internet works.. They said on TV that it would be a little warmer on Thursday.

Wow, that is cold. I can't handle that kind of weather at all. I was born and raised in Indiana, where the winters there are very harsh, and can get below zero temperatures. I now live in Oregon, and wer don't get that cold, thank goodness. We can get way below freezing though, which we did have back in Novermber, but since then, it has been mild, and now, it is very wet from all the rain we have been having. We ar due for lots more too, and I am getting so tired of it for sure.

@buenavida It has almost been feeling like spring here in Oregon, as we have been in the 40's with some 50's. Those are great temperatures, and I am enjoying them, but not all the rain we are getting as we have had way to much. I am just hoping that we get the rain when we need it.

It reminds me my travel time to Harbin. Yes, it is the same cold. At that time most of the time I kept my mobile phone and camera to my coat. As the battery would run out soon due to the cold weather. According to my observation, iPhone is the smartphone which runs out the battery soonest.

@1hopefulman - Some Finnish people go to sauna and then go out and bathe in the snow and then quickly go back to the sauna.. I saw my dad doing that once.. haven't tried it myself yet, but maybe I should, as I am Finnish too..

This is not unusual here, one can actually get used to it, but I prefer warmer weather..

The batteries do not work in too cold weather, I cannot understand that manufacturers have not considered this problem.

It works now.. I talked with others, and it was not the battery this time, but the network provider. They have fixed it.. I will keep the phone warm though.. It is still about -30C

Yes, when I went out, I had warm clothes on.. I have mittens of wool, so I breathed through one of them. And it was not windy, so I could go out to do some errands.

Many times, I mean the -30C - some winters we have had this cold for weeks, but maybe the global warming has made these periods shorter.

I'm sorry you have no cell phone service when the temps get that low. Hopefully it will warm up soon where you live.

I saw the news on TV - they say it will become a bit warmer in the end of the week. The cell phones usually work, so I hope it will be fixed soon.
