Has your reputation from other sites followed you to myLot?

We each have a reputation, whether good or bad. We are also known for our actions, or lack of, from previous online encounters. Many of us know each other as far back as 2008 as members of Associated Content, which morphed into Yahoo Voices. Some of us just met yesterday. I have always been associated with humor. Maybe not all of you get my humor, that happens. My objective in life is to make people laugh, or at least chuckle a little or maybe a slight smile. I have a reputation for that. There are people who have a reputation for being sarcastic or unfeeling or just nasty. Some are known as truthful, while others tend to tip the scale a bit. Some keep their true self to themselves while others give TMI (Too Much Information). Some are dramatic or self-centered while others keep their ego in check. Those reputations, no matter which kind, most likely follow them in life as well as in cyberspace. Has your reputation followed you to myLot and if so, what is that reputation? I think I'd have to ask other people what my reputation is, I'm just myself.

Then your reputation is that you try be yourself all the time. Many of us can be more than one person. I've heard people tell me how sweet I am..but I am not - never was sweet, that's not me, but I guess I came across that way. but you teach us about various aspects of your country so maybe you're a story teller.

I'm just trying to say SmilePie and much2say are the same person! I think at the other place a lot of people knew me for going to so many kiddie parties!

I have not really given this subject a lot of thought. I am a homebody, my home and my family are paramount to me, so I suppose that comes across as my reputation. I like this discussion and I'll come back later on today to read to see what others have to contribute to it. A job well done!

I've been on writing sites for fifteen years. I've written loads of travel reports and book reviews. But myLot is not a site for elaborate posts. Here I write different stuff. This means that myLotters think differently of me than the members on the other writing sites did.

I would venture to say that applies to many of us. I have been writing online since 08 and not at social media sites...Of course no one is going to put in hours of research for discussions here like at sits where you were paid decent money for articles. I wrote for a pet food blog and made $25-$30 per article.

I was a member of Associated Contest/Yahoo Voices/Yahoo Contributor Network for a couple of years until it folded, two years ago. I don't believe I've gotten my last payment from them, which was 40 cents. I don't remember you guys from there. I don't know about my reputation from other sites. I've found out about this site from a fellow hubber on Hub Pages last fall. I've seen two HP members over here as well.

I spent a long time on Associated Content and Helium simultaneously then just Helium after AC morphed into Yahoo Voices then I went to PP after Helium folded. Now I am here. I first started this online thing on AC in 2008 but I doubt I have a reputation or anyone remembering my articles from way back when. And my writing was quite different in the AC/Helium days.

@JohnRobertsOf course, we worked harder on articles there for the money - I had many of mine picked up by radio stations for some odd reason. I was a featured pet and featured travel writer plus I was a Community Guide for a few years.

@AbbyGreenhill When I was on AC, I had the freedom to publish long magazine articles usually on vintage Hollywood subjects and movies in general that I know had a limited audience. But over the course of time they did accumulate views which paid off unlike PP and sometimes I would get a "hot" article ignited by a TCM viewing. And all my effort was on writing them and not the interaction thing. If I had my druthers, I would prefer to still be on AC or Helium.
