Kindness is Part of the Job

I knocked on the door of a stay but there was no answer so I opened the door and heard someone talking. I called out and no response so I shut the door and went on to the next room.
On my return to the room the party did come to the door and it was a frail old woman. She wanted the bed changed and while I worked she talked, I listened. I realized quickly she had hearing difficulties so when I spoke to her I made sure I was looking at her.
Being kind doesn't take that much effort and I made an old woman who was alone happy for the time I was there. I don't know if I'll have her room again tomorrow but I would be pleased to do just what I did today. Be kind and listen.

I took the time for her and it was a fairly light day yesterday. Today was busy though.

Part of my job is dealing with the guests and making them happy.

You are so right, kindness doesn't cost much, but can make all the difference in someone's life.

You did a good deed.Ya it's like kindness is what we are born with and we shall use it every now and then because it nit just a way to help someone or be genuine to that one but it's also about the satisfaction that we obtain by doing the same.
