Mylot is Banned in China

Okay, I have done enough to conclude that Mylot is "BANNED" in China! @myLotBugs @pgntwo @JolietJake @GoAskAlice Along with all who are concern and have been following on this matter, let me sadly concur that MyLot is inaccessible via our local network. Without the use of VPN or proxies we are unable to sign in and work in MyLot. There is no point and of no use if we (Mainland Chinese members) are unable to log in to mylot which is the first requirement for us to post articles, comments and responses. I don't know nor have the slightest idea what is happening but I do hope that the technically inclined team here would know and come up with the solution for this. To you in other parts of the world I hope that you do not have the same problem as us here in Mainland China. Please note that there are some of you who may have China members' contacts, I hope that you will inform them via email or sorts about this. Have a great day everyone.
Following up on what I had posted earlier, I'd like to clear the air here that MyLot was NEVER BANNED in China except for a glaring bug in mylot's site query as...

I am glad that you liked it and I hope that you would be able to come over to China for a holiday one. The Temple of Heaven is one of the 5-star tourist attractions in Beijing which sees millions of visitors each year. It is very historical and well maintained. I am sure you will enjoy yourself here.

@Bluedoll Just to let you know there's no accommodation at this tourist attraction but I can assure you that any international chained hotels would be a delightful experience in Beijing. You may take up your friend's offer and stay with your friend when you are in China which is a bundle of savings here. Besides the Temple of Heaven, you can consider the Confucius Temple, the Great Wall and the Forbidden City for a China experience. You really need a bit of time to travel about so do have a good period of stay when you come to China for a holiday.

@artemeis I have a friend from China that is living here now for several years. She wants me to visit and said I can stay with her and her family on holiday when she returns for a visit. I would like to see a different part of the world and enjoy our time together. The Temple of heaven sounds well delightful to be able to live for the day there. I have to say though Chinese history and belief confuses me but that makes for a joy of learning.

Ah, dammit... I hope it's not the case and it's just some stupid glitch. It would really suck if the government decided to censor myLot.

I like to clear the air here. I firmly believe that mylot is not being singled out to the effect that it is entirely being banned as a whole. Please be aware that we (Chinese members from Mainland China) are able to access the site and read whatever is being posted inside, look for certain members inside and so on but we are unable to sign in to actively participate in the activities inside. @Mike197602 In this sense, VPN is really NOT NEEDED to read and search whatever that is inside mylot. We just need the service to sign in and participate actively here. Hope you have a clearer picture here. If this is banned then the response would be a 404 error or server is busy response that kinda thing. At this point, it is not so.

as far as I know chinese members have had to use vpn's for ages. I don't entirely understand this as the starter is obviously still here. If i'm wrong and mylot has now been put on the banned list then a vpn is an easy workaround just as it was for facebook users.

Oh, that really pisses me off , makes me hate THEM even more People here are just writing their peace and earning a decent amount even though it's not much. It's not fair already, I hope you find a way to get through that censorship. I don't think mylot bans any certain countrys, although paypal doesn't transaction in some parts of the world, though. But I'm sure mylot is open for every body. I swear no more political topics with you unless it's idiots like donald trump

I am quite sure that this is no small glitch and I had mentioned in an earlier post. Somehow, the admin did not manage to follow up and come up with a solution. There will be a solution eventually but it will take time which we could not anticipate and know when that will happen. Hope that it will be soon.

@artemeis I don't see a solution coming from mylot as they're just a site. To get around firewalls set up by a government you need to use vpn's as you're doing. Mylot won't be in a position to do anything to help.

I don't really have any answers here but I don't think mylot is being singled out and banned by our authorities since we are able to access the site to read. The problem would arise when we try to login and participate actively inside here. It is like some services (paid) being unavailable to certain countries so I cannot tell if this is a big or small problem. If it takes a short time to resolve the issue then that would be regarded as a small problem otherwise it will be fingers crossed time.

@abhaijith I am looking out for my fellow country members here in Mylot and the fact that they are absent simply tells me that they are unaware and if continues extensively they might have the impression that it is a ban.

Although I would not recommend to use it, there is an alternative address with another domain name to login and sign up here. Try it and tell us if it works :

@artemeis It is a kind of backdoor, needed for technical reasons. Interesting result. It confirms that it is China which is blocking myLot, and not myLot which is blocking China. Sorry about that.

I'am from the u.s. sometimes i have that problem myself, it could be your proxy settings or if you have a browser cleaner sometimes it erases everything. I had one that would randomly change my ip after every clean, i couldn't even log in and had no internet connection.

I think it is far from it since I could get to this site to read everything inside but I would be stumped or stopped when I try to login to participate actively here. The login in page just does not come out and the browser is completely stand still.

@davidalicea100 I think you have an AdBlocker in your browser which will require you to turn it off when you are accessing mylot. It did help previously when I was here sometime ago.

@artemeis I had to change my internet settings for some weird reason half the sites were blocked. I could not even logon to my facebook. I had a ip-vp changer it would block random sites. I don't know why.

I won't pretend I understand all this, but can you log in using the VPN and then stay logged in forever. What I mean is I log into myLot and I never log out. So I can close this browser then later open it and I'm still logged in. Even from one day to the next I am always logged in.

VPN is a service which will be accessed as and when needed. After our session we will be disconnected once we shut down our computers or laptops. In this sense, so is the login here. We will need to re login.

I believe this glitch is unintentional and unexpected as mylot has to host it on another location due to a change of ownership, increase of members and new enhancements. I just stumbled into the solution after being stumped at the new site's unresponsive login. Since then I had been sounding the alarm on this matter.

Facebook is not allowed there, so I bet it really is true that MyLot is also not allowed. When I was in China I tried logging in to Facebook in my hotel room but couldn't. I thought there was just a problem maybe with the Internet connection or Facebook itself, but it turned out I couldn't log in because the Chinese government does not allow Facebook in their country. At least that's what the son of my boss told me.
