What a Way To Start My Day

My day started when the trash men decided to make a racket at 4:30 am. Usually they don't make that much noise but today it was as if they wanted the whole neighborhood awake.
I didn't fall back asleep for awhile and then woke up again when my daughter was leaving for work. She leaves through the garage and I heard the door open but laid there waiting to hear it shut. Ahhh there's the sound I was waiting for. Back to sleep.
After my shower and on my way to the kitchen to put on the coffee the little white dog was waiting in the hall outside my room. She looked sad and lo & behold right next to her was an accident (yes she peed & pooped on my carpet). I didn't yell at her but she knew she was wrong.
I continued on with my morning ritual...getting down that first cup of coffee, making breakfast for mom and helping her get ready for the day.
Took the dogs out in the back for their morning grass sniffing and business.
Cleaned up the kitchen and went into the garage to get something out of the freezer for dinner and there is the garage door wide open. Yup, it was open from 6am until now (about 10:30am).
Apparently when my daughter hit the remote to close the door it came down halfway but the trash can was in the way of the sensor and it popped back open.
Since she was already in the car and pulled out of the driveway she probably didn't even know.
So, here I am sitting in a house that anyone could enter for all those hours.
Good thing I live in a relatively safe neighborhood but still I was upset when I realized the house was open for all those hours.
I'm happy having my daughter & family living here but it's hard keeping track of things and letting others be responsible. I know when I tell her she'll be upset but I/we can't ignore this.
I guess I'll keep the accident the dog had to myself since I had to clean it up and just hit her with the door news when she gets home. After a hard day of work and having a 3 hour round trip drive to work I'm sure the last thing she wants to hear is bad news.

I hope your day gets better my friend.
My day so far is confusing to say the least.
I have an appt today also that I dread.
I hope to be back soon from it.

hi Marilynda co mpared to your morning mine was not so bad. I forgot to use milk insteadof creamer in my coffee oh dear me same old thing ten minutes of sev ere a abdominal cramps followed by instant diarrhea and now Im fine again b ut that cannot be god for ones s ystem what ever they put in those cream ers there should be a warning about possible side e ffects. Those things are almost lethal g rrrrrrrrrrr.'Now to remember use only milk to cool my coffee. hope your daughter is
careful to be sure the doors down b efore she drives to wo k after this as that is scary.

It is trash day here today too, but we have laws about how early they can make noise. It's 7:00, but where I live, they arrive at 8:00. I think this is civilized. 4:30 is just crazy.

we have two trucks that come through (always in the middle of the night) one for regular garbage and the other to pick up the recycling.

@Marilynda1225 We have the same, but they are not allowed to come that early. Don't you have "quiet time" laws in your area?

Today is trash day here too, but our trash guys dont come until after noon. Sometimes not until 1pm. what the heck. My day has been very interesting so far..having "the talk" with my young son.

4.30 is very early for the trashmen - ours come about 7.30 am every thursday

Usually they don't make so much noise but today was really loud. We have two different trucks that come during the night (one for regular trash & the other for recycling)

That was some day that you have had! In comparison... mine was pretty normal. I hope that yours is a whole lot better tomorrow!! You deserve it for being so understanding!!

My day was busy, but it's almost over. Went like this: write a progress note for yesterday's kid client, volunteer at my friend's preschool, take my taxes to a friend who does them for me, see an afternoon kid client, get some stuff from Trader Joe's, come home and grade papers. And listen to the rain. I'm pooped.

Doesn't sound like the best day to have- we live in an apartment and some days i 'm amazed at how loud those recycle garbage men can be.
