Facebook is Planning to Allow Users to Profit From Their Posts

First news of the day for me was a quick business article published in Time Magazine. That Mark Zuckerberg believes in innovation, evolution and helping the masses. What a visionary! Agree?
Follow up to my previous post about “Social Networks That Pay”.
Looks like we are going to have to add Facebook to the list.
Is everybody OK with that?
Anyway … Zuckerberg is thinking of putting his spin on the phrase “a penny for your thoughts” by creating a “virtual tip jar” for posts by individual users to the social network. Don't know how this is going to finally work out, but give the guy kudos for his business planning, knowing how to keep his lion's share of the social media market, and staying alive! Forward thinking people are to be admired.

He has billions, I think he should just give all users of facebook like I don't know a thousand bucks just for being a member me thinks. Wouldn't that be cool.

He'd bankrupt himself as FB has 1.2 billion members

Probably not everybody will profit from their posting activity. But as much time as some people spend on Facebook, they might easily make $100 to $1000 profit. It could happen!

I'm waiting to see it also. But for now, I'm glad he's even thinking about it.

@cmoneyspinner Some are just on Facebook just for the sake of having it. But if they can have money out of it, they will be more active.

@cherriefic - If I didn't have websites and blogs, I probably wouldn't be on Facebook or any other social media for that matter. I created the accounts because they were free to sign up; and I was following the masses in order to share my stuff. The original intent of Facebook was personal, i.e. to “reconnect” with people from your past. I very seldom reconnect with people I once knew via Facebook. But even though I use social media mainly for business purposes, I have made some new friends.

How much more people? I thought everybody in the world was already on Facebook. At least, everybody who has Internet access.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think TSU is their competition and that is a lot of money going to be paid out to billions of people if they do.

Competition usually makes for a healthy and thriving business environment. Let's hope the consumers reap the bountiful blessings! The Social Media Giants and competitors can't fight for territory all they want. Free enterprise is the American way. If the little people get the benefits, it's all good.

I bet he will stop people from sharing the blogging posts from other sites.

Not so sure about that. The feature at Tsu for sharing posts to Facebook has been reactivated. Now when you share on Tsu, there are two options. Share and/or Share to Facebook. Noticed it the other day. Looks like Tsu and Facebook kissed and made up after all that brew ha ha about spamming!

This is interesting, although I'm wary of this actually happening. But it's an article from TIME, so I hope this is true.

Yes. I thought so. TIME Magazine is not known for being like the National Enquirer.

UUhhh ... yeah. I'm not a "Facebook insider" but I'm pretty sure that's the "unspoken plan".
Hey! I can speculate just like everybody else!

A very welcome idea, to think that he had been gaining so much from users, I guess.

How can you have pages without a profile? Did you convert your profile to a page? Some people did. But as far as I know, Facebook won't let you create pages without a profile. That's how it was when I created my pages anyway.

@cmoneyspinner I created a page without profile but on desktop. Instead of sign up I chose create page and it worked. And I also have pages with my profile account.
