Have you ever broken a bone?

Have you ever broken a bone? Have you ever broken a bone at some point during your life? I have only broken one bone and that was my little toe after I tripped over a shoe in the hallway one evening. It was very painful and took so time before it was better. The amount of time I catch it on something, I guess I should walk around the house bare feet. I guess I have been lucky with only breaking what one, I know some people have broken many. Have you ever broken a bone?

I broke my wrist in a bad fall while snow skiing. I also got mugged many years back and ended up with a broken nose. :((

@kevin1877uk - The guy punched me in the nose for my purse. I only had about $100 in it but I wouldn't give it up. Foolish of me.

Yes I have when I was a teenager. I was showing off to someone I liked by doing a kartwheel-I did that just fine actually. When I got right side up again I tripped over my own feet (don't ask how, I don't know) Lol and I tried to catch my fall by putting my hand down-I broke my wrist by doing that. Needless to say I never showed off anymore after that!

Yes I have. When I was little, I have broken my foot. I also have broken a toe. I've broken my arm when I was 12 I think. I had broken my clavicle, 20 years ago, in a bike accident. Yes I had a helmet on, too. But that's the last time I've broken a bone ever. Thank Goodness!

Miraculously No. Despite the outrageous stunts that I got up to when younger I always managed to get away with it.

@kevin1877uk I have fallen through a gap in the floor in a building site and landed on bricks on my back, failed to jump a bridge and fallen into a muddy river where I gashed my hands on large rocks and even fallen through the ice on a frozen lake. I never learned and continued to act foolishly, but always got away with it.

Not quite a break, but I tripped over a cord a few years ago and hit my cheekbone on a leg of a metal chair. I went to the doctor and he said that it would be fine as long as it wasn't feeling numb. Well, when he asked, it didn't. I got a nice black eye out of it!

@kevin1877uk The toe is one of the hardest to heal I hear and it never seems to ever completely heal or so my mom told me. I hope that you had more success! Goodness... your mom having a broken arm for a week, must have been painful!!

I, like you, broke a toe too @kevin1877uk . Although my husband: fractured 3 of my ribs; fractured the orbit of my eye and demolished my spine by throwing me out of a moving car at 35MPH. Does that count?

Yup. The Great Trampoline Attack of '96. It took out the middle knuckle on my left hand. The bones had to be pinned together during surgery. I suffered humiliation and anguish when, that year in school, we started learning how to type. I could only hunt and peck because I was confined to a cast. The horror! And then there was the incident, three years ago, when I took a wrong step over a kid's toy laying on the floor. My ankle twisted, and, crunch! I spent the rest of that pregnancy recovering from a broken foot.

@kevin1877uk Yeah, doctor's don't normally do anything with broken toes, feet, or fingers, as you probably found out. I only had my hand worked on because it was my metacarpal that was damaged and not the phalanges. (Don't I sound super-cool using the proper bone terms? Do I get extra points for that?)

Yes. I am sure I've had broken toes, my nose and cheek bone were broken when I was assaulted back in 1992, and I fell off my bike and broke my elbow when I was nearly hit by a car back in 1994. That was my first major break. My elbow ended in my shoulder and had to be surgically pinned back into place.
