You are technically correct. But we're not very fussy or easily offended so we're not going to worry about the details of how an individual person writes it out.

It doesn't really bother me. What does bother me is the pronunciation. Is it Lot as in hot, or low like the French would say?
How myLot can you go?

i've always written it as Mylot, but i know i never wrote it as Mylots or My Lot. i know others write 'the lot' or 'lotters', instead of 'mylot' or 'mylotters.' i've also seen mylottian/s back in the old mylot, which made me think of martians. i like that mylot is such a flexible word that i can even use it as a verb such as 'mylotting.'

@hereandthere I'm a member of myLot - not a lotter or any other silly (IMO) names. I would be royally peed off if someone, anyone, constantly spelled my name incorrectly.

@Bluedoll I am not aware of any spelling rules. Technically, the only letter capitalized is the L. Why? I don't know. Just to be "edgy" or unique I suppose.

@GoAskAlice Thanks, for the heads up. Now we can all breath a sigh of relief and understand. A spelling mistake or a capitalization is not a hard rule @MsTickle Are we good?

I'm wondering about the origin of the name. I think it means "my people" but I would never have thought of that interpretation if I had not read Harry Potter and people kept saying "you lot" for "you people."

People make mistakes. I can't catch every typo I make. Not even when I re-read what I wrote several times. I try to ignore typos when I know what someone is saying or trying to convey. As I make mistakes myself.

I know the saying and always thought of it as a blessing. Who wants to know CRAP!
The correct way is not always the correct way. Certainly I can agree with you about the correct spelling of a company name. But on this site people do write about lots and lots and also about lots calling it theirs. Go figure...

It can be the autocorect tied in with the brain thinking it typed correctly and not seeing what the autocorrect did.
I know this as the autocorrect did it to me yesterday on a blog and I had to correct it after I published.

@MsTickle Sometimes that's the best way to be taken.

when i include the site in my comments, i use the gerund or the verb mylotting or lotting and i think everybody can understand that.
