@GardenGerty and I have had several conversations about those around us who do not consider the things we do online to be work. And, how they just expect us to drop what we are doing and do other things. She knows my financial woes because she is a good, trusted friend, and a good listener. I may only earn pennies at a time online, but every penny adds up. I keep working at making what I could consider "a living". I chose this particular image from pixabay because it really represents me. I am on my laptop. My tablet is also right next to me that I am working on. And, I don't only work (run apps) on 1 smartphone, but on 4. 2 of those phones are cheap and older so don't do much, but I work on them what I can. With all of this said, I am going to try to be here more often now as the pennies do seem to add up quicker than some of the other things I am doing. Have a great Saturday night.

My family sort of treats me trying to earn online like a joke, but I ignore them most of the time. Things do add up here and there.

Exactly. I set a goal and accumulate what I can to pay for what I want. It is the only way to show people that this really is a job, that lets me have time off for people when I have to.

My ultimate goal right now is to make enough online to pay the cable bill each month. This in addition to what I already use my earnings for such as gas in my van, my quilting hobby etc.

I try to spend at least a couple of hours a day here. Yesterday it was not possible because I had guests, but most of the time I do.

I got caught up in quilt posts I was seeing on the side here today. After commenting on most of them I found that some were written over 3 years ago...and those users haven't written since. Oops!

@marsha32 I have noticed that some old users are no more on the site.

I don't make a living working online as i don't make that much. I have a real job outside of here that helps pay my bills this is just for extra income to have some fun etc. I wish I could just stick to online jobs instead of working in the real world.

Hi Marsha, long time no "see." :) I had totally forgotten about this site until a friend reminded me. I had been using some other earning opportunities but they aren't doing so well. I get a lot of flack from my family sometimes about the time I spend online. I think they sometimes think I am "lazy" because I'm on the computer so much. But I quickly remind them of the birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, movie tickets, and other things they like to do that get paid for from my online earnings. That usually shuts them up for a while! But, I average anywhere from $300-500 a month. So, granted, I spend FAR too many hours to get that, but it's money I can't earn otherwise because homeschooling my kids prevents me from getting a "real job."

I get the same problem from most of my folks too. This is especially true for hubby Keith. He wants me out in the "real world" earning a living not understanding that the cost of daycare, work clothes etc would kill what income I did make.

What are you going to college for? You are VERY right that the cost of daycare will eat up the majority of what you earn as well as other necessities required for you to have a job away from home.

@marsha32 Oh, it certainly adds up, especially if you're working on other paid writing sites.

I don't write anywhere else except blog posts. It's rare that I get paid, or earn from a sale from a blog post. Mostly I just get in free items that I review. Most of my time is spent in traffic exchanges and mailers. I just have fun with them.

All we can do is plug away at collecting those pennies. Times are tough and every little bit helps.

MyLot makes a decent portion but not a living. I like that I make connections here and learn other things to earn from. MyLot is dependable and honest, though. I think we do have to make boundaries when we are trying to earn and people laugh and think it is a joke.

Hope you had a great Saturday as well. I think the trick is to diversify online and work on different things. They all slowly add up and it is nice to see the $ go up in my Paypal account. It is fun to watch the different ones get close to pay out.

I'm the same way, I'm using doing this, a couple micro jobs, scanning something on my app on my phone to make money. Money has always been really tight for me and if I do something that gives me some more money I'm actually happy. Sure it's not like tons of money but at the same time, it makes me less stressed because I still feel like I'm doing something.

Many of the people I know think that I´m lazying around when I´m working online. I don´t bother to explain. I have bought several things with these cents that add up.

That sounds like a lot of tedious effort for those pennies. Good luck to you.
