Big problem here. I have been bored for the last couple of days. I am not interested in doing anything, and I don't care much about it. I don't know why. There is really no reason. Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you do when you are bored and don't care less?

I am sorry you feel that way, Jo Ann! You must be missing something in your life and you are just noticing it now. If you could figure out what that something is, maybe that would let you turn loose of the boredom and unrest? No, I'm sorry, again. I've never felt that way and have no idea what you might be missing. (I don't necessarily mean you have lost anything, but maybe you have misplaced something, if that makes sense?) Have you recently given up anything that you could be wishing you had again? (For example, have you recently quit working out?) Have any family members recently passed or moved away and you wish they were back? A best friend moved away or gotten married lately? (That can feel the same as if they have recently passed away.) I don't normally get bored. When I feel any twinge of boredom, I go pester @TheHorse, @Daljinder, @silvermist, @Drosophila, @mommaj, @UR_Forever_Raja, @purplealabaster or any number of others on myLot. There are a lot of people on this site I consider friends, and they will all help me out, if I ask. Heck, I've even gone looking for you a few times to help me over a feeling that something wasn't quite right, @akalinus . (I know I didn't tell you I was looking for you, but I don't tell anyone else I am looking for them unless it has been several weeks since I spoke with them and I am beginning to worry/wonder if everything is alright with them.) I do hope things smooth out for you! Good luck!

@akalinus I do have the same problem sometimes. It's almost like nothing seems quite as fun as it did so you don't have the gumption to do it anymore. @DaddyEvil usually helps with our boredom, but hey if he looks for us for something to do, I'm not going to say anything different.

@akalinus I like being able to cheer others up, too. I will go out of my way to make a totally honest and aboveboard remark/comment funny if I can see a way to do that. It does warm the cockles of my heart when I get to leave someone smiling instead of frowning. It really wouldn't be appropriate or desirable to call your son to suggest he come home, either. He might get the idea that you like him and try to take advantage of that fact! (You know, ask for more money or to be able to stay away longer than the amount of time you agreed with or a later curfew or... who knows the minds of kids these days?)

Ah, thanks. I love it if I can cheer you or anyone else up. I think I miss my son being here, He is spending days at a time with his girlfriend in another city. That is as it should be, but a change. I think it is so hot and I am just in the doldrums. I guess I need to get a life, or something.

This is the second post i've read about being bored today. Here's what I do just to answer your question: 1. I mylot. I have friends here with great sense of humour they make me laugh all the time when I'm here. 2. I work on my planner journals by decorating them. 3. I chat with my French friend who talks about how difficult life is. It makes me think, I'm luckier. 4. I go shopping. 5. I watch Korean tv series, Game of Thrones, Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, and The Strain. 6. I do yoga three times a week, it breaks my monotonous schedule. 7. I take my mountain bike or my road bike and cycle for about 20 kilometres with an average speed of 25kmph.

@akalinus I don't mind naming some of the people I go looking for to cheer me up when something has me down. If they are really my friends, they won't mind if I forget their name.

All good suggestions, thanks for sharing. Mylot does get pretty funny at times. Some of the people on here are hilarious and I always look forward to seeing that they have posted. I won't name them because I will forget somebody and make them feel bad.

I do have one of those adult coloring books and some markers. I could not find colored pencils at a reasonable price so using Dollar Tree markers and crayons for now. Not very good at it anyway.

@Blondie2222 I looked in Dollar Tree. None there. They were frightfully expensive on Amazon. Will get some, I just wanted something right away. Crayon mixed with marker gives some pretty good results.

When I want to change my feelings I "act as if". That is, if I want to be engaged or interested in something, I act as if I am interested. If I want to feel positive, I act as if I feel positive. The other thing is that perhaps you are not having enough rest or sleep.

One thing is I am just discouraged. I do stuff on Swagbucks all day and most of it does not credit. I just can't seem to get anywhere with making a couple of bucks. The other is that I am here all alone and feel like nobody really cares. I know you can't go by feelings but my brain refuses to acknowledge that.

It was more than just boredom yesterday. It was a big case of "I don't careitis." I hate days like that. All these great people really cheered me up.

I usually do 'whatever I feel it's my responsibility to do.' In a kind of semi-retirement (which I think all retirees are in, since "stuff costs you money" no matter how old you get), so I don't have any "real" responsibility to do anything. (i.e. my main "paycheck" is coming in whether I do stuff or not (as long as it's not a crime)) When I can't really think of anything specific "to do," then I usually 'just do whatever'---online, I go to Facebook and see what my 'friends' are thinking about, then play Facebook-games while watching my notifications to see if they respond to my thoughts about their thoughts or -to something else (maybe -to my boredom or another post I made) offline, I get in bed & turn on my TV to see if there's anything-on Netflix or -recorded on my DVR or -available for free with my NOT-FREE subscription to Amazon Prime (see the link on my myLot profile-page). If not, I can just watch 'an old DVD' or something else to bide my time until something good comes up.

I really don't get bored very often. When I do on the rare occasion I enjoy music so I usually sing, do my devotionals or get out of the house for a little bit. I hope your boredom goes away soon!

When I feel like that, I either put some music on (because it generally cheers me up) or I read. I'm always in the middle of some book or another so that's easy for me to do. Is there anything that you really enjoying doing? Any hobbies?

Good idea. I read every night. Right now, I am reading Gifted Hands about Ben Carson who became a neurosurgeon. It is an inspiring book. It shows how decisions he made when he was young changed the whole direction of his life.
