Busy Day but Nothing Got Done

I had a busy day working on gathering all of the information that the twins need for Pre-K. I am hoping that since they have asthma and a speech problem they will seriously be considered. If that happens I will not have to worry about daycare for the fall semester. Speaking of which, I also had several things to take care of for my financial aid and I got started on that. I also looked up several new recipes to try out. With the cold weather ending it is time to look for new recipes that don't require the kitchen to be so hot. I have found quite a few new ones that I want to try. I am going to tackle the house and the online work (today). I hope to get a few things taken care of. How was your Wednesday?

I swear, I'm always exhausted after reading all the things you do ..... heck, I only do house work when it gets so bad I can't stand it anymore. I do hope the twins will be considered for preK, that would really help you out while you're in class Does that financial aid pay all the stuff you'll need for classes?

@rebelann trust me I am tired too! The kids are getting really good at helping me around the house, though. They are at the age where housekeeping and yard work are still fun. I am going to enjoy that while it lasts. Yes, I received grant money from Employment Security Commission.

@rebelann I am happy to say that they are pretty good about helping me clean up. Especially if I am "helping" them. It works out good for us. Lil K gets a small allowance that we make him save. We have not started that with the twins yet though.

Hey lady, wondered where ya'd been @Shellyann36 I hope they really get into it then as they get older you can use chores as a means for them to earn things like privileges and even some Christmas or birthday goodies. Ma n Pa did that with us when we were kids, mostly they'd tell us that if we clean our rooms they'd take us swimming or to the movies or somethin like that, they didn't have much money either.

@LadyDuck Glad it went well for you. Our weather is hot and steamy right now. We do have storms coming through that cool it off a bit every once in a while.

@Shellyann36 The visit went well thank you. The three first weeks of June have been very bad, rain all the time and cool temperatures. Now the weather is perfect, sunny, dry and not too hot.

My Wednesday went quite fine, but today is already Thursday here and it's not a good day for me. I can still manage my stress though.

@mom210 So far since we have the speech therapist coming to the house things have been going a bit smoother. She only has early morning hours available and that helps get the twins out of bed at a reasonable time.

LOL with the kids in this household that is how the cookie crumbles lots of times! Mine keep me hopping day and night. We are working on a schedule, though.

Very interesting to read. My niece had twins (preemies) they are now 8 but were in speech therapy from Kindergarten to this year. Their speech is now normal. It does work!

Thank you for that info. My boys started out with what we call "twin speak". They could totally carry on a conversation and it would be a foreign language to the rest of us. They are much better now but there are still times when they get frustrated with me because I cannot understand them when they get excited about certain things. Fortunately for us, Lil Keith (the 6 year old) is turning out to be a good interpreter. The encouragement has made my day!

@Shellyann36 It's true what you say. If you're busy it really pays to stay organised. June seems to be flying by and it is now quite cold and often wet - which is how it's supposed to be so all is good.

I realize this is really old but since it is a Wednesday I think it still fits. I have been trying to cook once and have several meals or making two meals from a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.

@BelleStarr thank you for stopping by! I always try to get meals prepped a bit before actually cooking them. During these hot summer months, it sure helps to save from heating up the house.

Do both of the twins have speech problems? Is this a pre-k for special needs kids health wise?. Hope you get everything accomplished that you're working toward. I think I worked windows last wednesday, which I did again today. After returning home, my employee mowed our lawn, and I did some weeding and then planted a few vegetables that I purchased today. I also took time to take some photos of my plants most of which haven't bloomed just yet although a few have.

@MarshaMusselman you always sound so busy! I hope that your vegetables and flowers are very productive. The pre-k is designed for kids that are not up to par with other kids their age social wise as well as any physical problems they may have as well. Kids with speech problems, ADHD, ADD, mostly fall into the category. Also kids who speak English as a second language are also considered. It is to help give them a leg up for when kindergarten starts. I hope they make it in.

I went to work, then an interview for a 2nd job which didn't go well, then my youngest son's baseball game. I can't believe your boys aren't in preschool yet! Seems like they should be older than that...

@katsmeow1213 hate to hear that the job interview did not go well. The twins are 4 and will be 5 in October but they miss the cutoff date for kindergarten here in NC. The cutoff date is August 31st I believe.

I had a busy day helping my hubby tile our new basement bathroom. I recently bought an Instant Pot, a pressure cooker as well as a slow cooker. Kind of expensive but I can cook a 3 pound roast in an hour and it doesn't heat up the kitchen. It's so cool.

@fishtiger58 tiling is not fun at all. I didn't think we were ever going to get done with the kitchen and the two bathrooms here. Our basement needs to be done as well but we are skipping the tile and going for the square laminate tiles instead of the stone.

I worked late and then went from my first job straight to tutoring, but that's more fun than work. One of my students emailed and said she got an A on a paper I helped her with, and that was great to hear!
