Does it always have to be about how much money you make at myLot?

I realize that some like to brag about how much they make here. But what they might not realize is that they are turning people off. If all you write about is how much money you make you are not going to keep riding that high road for very long. Yes - newbies like to hear about how much people make here, but even they will get tired of it. Yes - you get 'congrats' and 'good job' comments, maybe because people just don't what else to say. Yes - your banking is growing, but that's temporary in all likely-hood. Yes - everyone is entitled to write what they want to write so do what you want to do you have the right. Continue writing about how much money you make at myLot - I just won't be liking/commenting on your posts. As a matter of fact it is time to unfollow you. I would rather read about other things, what about you? Photo: pixabay.com/en/word-money-million-dollar-667243/

I have to agree with you on this topic. It gets pretty boring to read about how much people make in their posts. I want to read about different topics.

I'm still quite new here and I'll be honest, I came to myLot wanting to earn money. I'm also on some paid survey site. But the reason I searched for something like myLot is that I want a site where I'm not just earning, but communicating with people. So far, I find it interesting here. So no, to me, money is not the only thing.

Most appears to be the most important aspect to many members, but the social aspect is also quite significant. Earnings are intended to be a welcome bonus at Mylot and would not be sufficient alone to justify the time spent here.

@AbbyGreenhill I will not even reach $10 this month. This is not a problem because I still enjoy the site and have made a few dollars anyway.

@Asylum I didn't spend much time here and then being away with lousy internet I am not near that myself, but I don't come here to pay bills LOL!

Right - like $10 is going to pay my $80 internet bill LOL! Sometimes I have to wonder if someone needs money so badly why not get a job?

I agree. Hopefully, the $5 threshold will stem some of that as it's an easy goal to obtain.

They brag about how much they make on a daily basis, so a threshold won't change much I don't think.

@JohnRoberts 5.00 is an easy goal? Interesting perspective.

@sallypup $5 is a heck of a lot easier than $10. Most people hit the $10. But you do have to spend some time here. The earnings don't magically accumulate.

Yes I see these post alot too and i get tired of reading them as well. The only time I post about money is if i reach a goal or i get paid but it's rare that i ever do. I rather talk about other things then money.

I do have to agree with you on this. Who really cares how much someone makes here or any site for that matter. For me being here is having fun. I enjoy writing posts and some short stories and even some poems.

I actually dont care if people do post on that. I follow several people who post on things I am not interested in, like religion, I just skip those posts. Now I do think it's rude to mention actual total amounts earned. but speaking of meeting goals, or making a dollar today or whatever, dont care. I tend to skip political posts too.

At first, I did look on Mylot as a money making opportunity. It has become so much more to me. It is a meeting place for friends that I never met in real life. It is a fun place. I post things here that I would not dream of putting on Facebook. I am addicted to this site and the people I have met here matter more than the money.

Your description is what myLot is really about - A site such as this one was never meant to make anyone rich. If people think that way they won't survive here.

I think it shouldn't be. It's great to earn money here just by sharing your thoughts with others and it shouldn't be about how much you earn.I guess, some people just can't help themselves. It is indeed exciting to learn that you can earn just by airing your opinion but I must agree that it's drowning and draining the fun (a bit) in mylot.

I think there is too much emphasis on how much money you make on here as there are some people that is the only discussion they seem to have. I am with you I won't be liking/commenting on their posts any longer either.
