Are you enjoying the spam on myLot and other sites? / myLot

For me, there has been an increase in the spam on myLot and some other sites. You know those great ones inviting you to learn how you can make $2,365 in a few seconds. These might be in your messages on this site or elsewhere. Anyway-no one here would be fooled by such spam notices we would hope. However, there have been many fooled over the years by spam. Are you seeing an increase in the spam on myLot or other sites?

The difference between myLot and other sites, is that myLot reacts fast and does its best to prevent spam.

I have two private messages of that type this week. It's the first time I've come across that type of spam at myLot.

@gina145 you might want to change your account's message settings to only those that you follow can send you private messages. i didn't get any.

I did not get in on that spam. I keep seeing the one post wonders with business links that tell me how to buy a good mattress or whatever else. I see people spamming at chatabout a lot.

Spam are here to stay whether we like it or not. If it's too good to be true then it's not and we should learn to be suspicious. Greed and the idea of a "free lunch" is what cause people to fall victims to scams.

Yes, I encountered such situation so often. And other types like: they are a billionaire who live in a refugee camp in some African countries, and hope to transfer their huge amount of money to my account, blablabla......so funny...

I noticed it here - this is the only place where I get messages (thank goodness!). I didn't read it but as soon as I saw the $, I just knew it had to be silly spam! That's really sad if anyone is falling for it - but I guess it does since they continue to do it!

I personally have started to receive a lot of spam messages. While some of them are of the nature that you have mentioned in your post, some others are vulgar in nature and I did report some of those users.
