What should we do when mylotters don´t respond?

There are some discusions that leave a lot of open threads. In those cases I comment, asking what I don´t understand. Many times, most of the answers are similar to mine. We want to know more. And sometimes I wait for an answer and there is no word. It is as if there was a grafitti written on a wall and then I was left to talk to it. What do you do?

I would give them some more chances but if they don't respond within the week assuming people are busy, I would move on. There are some instances where I am waiting because the discussion is interesting but they don't respond.

I wonder if we should stop reading posts from people who don´t comment on your answers.

@marguicha I know I mess up sometimes. There are times I should comment but I forgot or closed the notification without responding, or other stupid stuff. I unfollow people who I never see on here or never answer my posts. I want to spend time on those who are likely to answer back, sometimes. There are times when I don't understand the post. Today, someone posted a long description of something that happened in her neighborhood. I did not understand and apparently other people did not either. I did answer though.

I would give them some time since they might have logged off when you posted the question. If they don't answer in days, then ask again and see if they answer the second time around. If they don't, ask someone else. Good luck!

You know, the reality is that, inasmuch as some people may want to answer, sometimes, they are just running after their target, so they can come here and post just a sentence, and there, do the same, just making sure that they will reach their milestone, but not many actually follow up with discussions. At times, a person make a statement, you mention him in the answer, and you ask for clarification, but he never come back, well, I just give up on the discussion

I think that inthis case I might consider giving up on the mylotter. I am nor running a race to earn here; I want to have fun and make friends.

@marguicha I agree with you, but some people are really in the race. I joined Mylot only last week, when I started interacting with people, one thing I noticed on May 31st, is that many people were only talking about reaching their threshold, that was the topic of the day, and for me it was just funny, because, though I am still a newbie, I am having fun interacting with people and making more friends, of course the earning is a plus, as we do this same thing in FB without getting a dime, but it's sad that for some, it's not about the fun, it's about the earnings

I recall a discussion somedays back (when MysD was all good in health) - the OP had posted and forgot all about it but MysD interacted with all those who had posted replied onto that thread and made it a discussion. PA too has this kindness as I remember one of Raja's posts - wherein she had turned it into a discussion.

Now that summer is here, people are busy doing other things. I think it will be harder to earn. People do have lives offline. Try changing the kind of things you write discussions about.

I go to other threads and post on them. Yes, many times, there are very short answers, but what can we do. I just write my share on the threads and continue to the next ones.

@marguicha Yes, like when one asks a question on a thread. It needs an answer. I have sometimes found some unanswered questions. It happens often.

There are a couple of my discussions that I am having trouble with finding a response. In my notifications it will say who responded. I try to go through each one, but it seems that there are a few that I still can't find. Drives me crazy. Maybe you could send them a message and they will get back to you.

I gave it up long back. I feel there are two kinds of people here who do not respond or interact as the open a discussion - one- they revert back after a while (maybe they have been busy or even forgot that interactions make a discussion). So I may try responding to them (only if the discussion is interesting) as I know, sooner or later I can expect an interaction. And then the second type - they post because they either do not read the guidelines or are unclear what a discussion is. They never revert back. I do not go to them. Hope you are doing good dear friend. Had been mostly away since the past so many days. Feels like coming back home

@marguicha I write all my posts figures down and that way it's easy to see if there are extra comments without even opening the post. Obviously if there are, I open it and reply.

I can give 2 tips, not sure if they will work 1. message your followers who you think will be interested ,the discussion's link 2. Try to edit the post, add more tags, so that the discussion comes to most recent discussion

I think a lot of members post a discussion and move on and they also choose to ignore notifications. i think a lot of people just don't understand how the site works.

It depends on the situation. I think it is okay if people don't comment back right way. Maybe they are busy with other things and don't have much time to spend here. But if they never comment back I will stop responding.
