Surveys for food

We have had fast food a couple of times lately using gift cards we had on hand. We went for a casual dining meal last night as we were not even going to be home until bed time. I find myself in the possession of receipts that have surveys linked to them. I almost never fill them out, but have chosen to today. I do not know if they do this in other countries, maybe they do in some. It is a good way to be encouraged to report on our visits. Would you do a survey for a percentage off at a restaurant or for free extra food?

No, I cannot be bothered doing surveys, I've done more then my fair share of them. I find that by doing them you get spammed with repeat survey offers, and I'm not going back down that road again. We ate at a hamburger chain last week, which we never do, and when we ordered I spied a CAA discount card, so my husband showed his CAA membership card and our combo orders were reduced to just paying for the burgers, and the fries and bottles of water were free-now those kind of instant discounts are my kind!

I only do surveys for certain places, and find that they are beginning to pay off. Others are like you said, just a trap. Last night was "free pie night" at the Perkins restarurant, and that was very good. I do like those kinds of discounts.

@marlina The Swiss Chalet, Kelseys, Harveys restaurant chain offers this deal to CAA members, its nice to get a little perk now and then.

I honestly don't think about it until much later. I should start doing that though-we need to save some money!

That is usually how we are. We do surveys on our grocery chain because we get fifty fuel points, or half a cent off our gas. I just never have bothered with these others, but we are going to going on vacation and that will help.

@LovingMyBabies We even use a grocery loyalty card when we are at my daughter's house and get fuel points there as well.

@GardenGerty Yes that will help since food is so darn expensive.

I usually do the surveys on the back of receipts that enter you into some drawing for $1,000 or whatever it is. I usually don't do the ones for a percentage off food, as sometimes it's a long survey for such a litle payout (for example - McDonalds does this - and it's like BOGO on a sandwich I don't want to buy).

I let one expire that was a free appetizer on a meal at a steak house.

@GardenGerty Ahh that's too bad. That's probably worth at least $6-7 dollars! Of course when you go to a place like that you will be spending much more (that's how they get ya)

I don't mind doing surveys particularly if there is a reward at the end of it.

When I know I will be rewarded and not just entered in for a chance to win something it is worth it to do it.

I would consider a percentage off or free exrta food at a restaurant depending on what restaurant it was for.

We very rarely eat out, so I never do the surveys. Sometimes it can be for a free drink or something, but it would always expire before the next time we eat out.

That is how it often is for us, but we will be going on vacation soon and will be using them.

Yes, they do also here, you accept to do a survey and you receive a discount coupon. I surely do if it's for a restaurant where I usually go.

It depends - I couldn't be bothered if it was pages long, but I might do a few sentences.

I have done surveys for taco bell and subway and gotten a gift card and coupon. I would love to have a ton of more gift cards for places

I've never filled out any of those surveys either when I visit a fast food place. I might start doing it next time I get fast food cause any percentage off is a good deal

I think it is worth it if you know you will be back within a month.
