Wish I had a Tablet or Phone with Internet Access / myLot

I have an old cell phone that doesn't have internet access. Nor, do I have a tablet to do any kind of writing or myLotting, etc. So, I'm limited to my time to interact when I can sit at my desktop and chat. It would be really nice to be able to have either a phone or tablet as I sit bedside while my mom is in the hospital and chat with you guys while she is asleep. But, I have my book which I bring back & forth and that keeps me busy while she catches some zzzz's. All is going well so far but I'm tired and since we had bad thunderstorms this morning and heavy rain I did't get to head off to the hospital as early as I wanted. Figured I'd jot off a post before I head out so that you don't think I"ve disappeared. Hope you're having a great day today

I use my Kindle Fire. Sometimes Amazon puts them on sale for around $50. Get the super charger with it. Does Just about everything my laptop does.

Yes, a smartphone or a tablet will help a lot in interaction here when we are waiting for something. When I work in the massage salon, I always bring with me my tablet and smartphone so I could blog or write an article for my other writing sites while waiting for my clients to come. At least I have not wasted my time waiting. I am glad that we have internet at work and we are allowed to use our gadgets.

Being productive while waiting for your clients is better than just sitting around idle isn't it. We'd be lost without internet wouldn't we!

I don't have a tablet or smartphone either, but I do have a laptop. Sorry you've no means of communicating to us here while you are in the hospital - it must get boring while your mother is asleep. I hope that your mother is improving. Do you not have anyone else to take turns with you at the bedside?

Half of the family doesn't live close so pretty much my son in law & I have been at her bedside. My daughter still has to work so she's not able to he!p as much. Probably the weekend will be a little easier

You can use a power bank with high capacity so that your phone won't get drain so fast.

I never use my phone or iPad for myLot. I always use my laptop. Sooooo much easier!

I have both an Internet capable phone and a tablet, but rarely them as such. I find a computer much more convenient.

I am now using a phone to do myLotting. It's convenient. I can also use mobile data whenever I am out of the house.

although i have a phone with internet, i only use it to play games and read news articles to help me fall asleep. i have a basic one for calls and text. i'm used to the desktop but sometimes fantasize about having a tablet.

I got a tablet last year just for the purpose, although at that time it was to do some major bubbling and since then I do use it somewhat for mylotting too. I don't have a smartphone either, so I understand your dilemma. Maybe one day you'll be able to get one yourself. I got a Verizon Ellipses last year about this time as Verizon had a sale on them in time for Father's day. I paid about 45.00 for mine although there was a fee to begin of about the same amount. It does cost me ten dollars per month for the use of the internet with my daughters phone plan, which is manageable. The normal price for the tablet is 248.00 or so. You may want to check and see if they are doing the same offer this year too.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I just might look into it but until now I had no need since my home desktop was all I needed. Now with my mom being in the hospital I thought it would be nice to be able to do something productive while sitting there

I hope you can at tablet or a smartphone anytime. There are sale gadgets on eBay which are more cheaper. I'm using my iPad mini here and yes it's easy to use and convenient,

My phone is not also capable of accessing the internet. It doesn't even have a camera. Just intended for calling & texting. I hope you could buy a tablet soon.

Glad to hear your mom is doing well. I hope she can come home soon and that's okay that you can't mylot like you want too. I have a tablet and smart phone but i don't mylot on either one.
