I got up, got ready, cleaned the backseat of my truck out then went to town. It was around eleven so I bought a salad for lunch. My friends were right on time at 11:30. The one store they wanted to see in another town is only open Thursday through Saturday, so we came up with a new plan. We were going to go to another town, Marquette , Ks to a Motorcycle Museum. On our way to Marquette I decided they needed to see Lindsborg, Ks. aka Little Sweden USA. We visited a prettily painted phone booth, the Svensk Hmlojd, an antique store, and a toy store before going on to Marquette. The selected souvenirs. The motorcycle museum was great, lots of bikes dating from around 1900. From there they checked out some other stores, looking for particular Breyer's Horses ( a toy). We went to a park, then a thrift shop. My image is from the park on another day. Not today. For supper we took them to Montana Mike's. They headed back to Concordia, Ks. I went to Wal Mart and got some wants and needs, including some herbs. Now here I am with you.

That sounds like an interesting trip. I didn't realize that Kansas had a large Swedish population, I always think of Scandinavians as settling in the more northern midwest states.

I am not sure 100% what brought them, other than milling wheat on the Smokey Hill River. We have Swedes, Polish, Mennonite German, Scots, and Czech to name a few groups I am aware of. I will have to search that. I know about the Mennonite Germans and why they settled here.
