My poor kidneys...

I went to the ER the other day, and was told I had 'several' stones in both kidneys and one is stuck. It hurts so bad. There is nothing they can do for me until the baby is born, besides manage the pain. I'm hoping to just pass this one stone soon, because I'm tired of hurting.

You poor thing. I've had kidney stones and will likely make more some day. The pain can be excruciating. There isn't any way they can go in with a scope through the urethra? I had to take some pretty heavy duty painkillers and I can't imagine that being a good solution either.

@cpefley One time they knocked me right out with Demerol. I remember telling my wife and kids I would see them later and then blacked out. Another time they gave me morphine and it was effective till it wore off. Tordol was my favourite. Too bad they can't leave a person on it for extended periods of time. Last time around they gave me a double dose of something. They gave me something orally but it didn't take effect quickly enough so they gave me another shot intravenously and they both hit at the same time. I don't remember what it was that time. I woke up about an hour later. They gave up on the painkillers and went in with the scope, broke it up and pulled out the biggest pieces. It was not a whole lot of fun.

Me too. In the hospital, morphine only worked for a few minutes and they gave me Dilaudid. My OB assured me if I had to go back to the hospital, I wouldn't have to leave until I was out of pain.

My son had two episodes of kidney stones so I know how unpleasant they can be. Drink lots of water.

I hope you can manage with the pain, I'm sorry to hear you have to wait until the baby is born to have them removed.
