Trying out Clean Eating

I work as a virtual assistant for a client from the US. She's a fitness and health coach. Working for her is just amazing. Not only do I earn but I learn a lot. One of the main thing I learned from her was trying to "eat clean" But as a Filipino, I often find it hard since our usual staple aren't that "clean" and when you try to look for organic here, it is EXPENSIVE! When you try to eat clean, you choose food that aren't processed. Be simple as possible. I learned to drink almond milk instead of regular cow's milk or "fresh milk" but it is an acquired taste!! It tastes different quite honestly but I felt a whole lighter. I much on apples and nuts instead of chips during snack time. For breakfast I opt for rolled oats that were soaked overnight in almond milk with honey and love boiled eggs now. One thing I've learned is that IT IS POSSIBLE. My kids are loving it too quite surprisingly as they loved hot dogs before.. but not now. So any of you trying to eat clean? Or still munching on the usual greasy stuff?

Oh no. I promised to start on the 1st of May but I kinda forgot. :D I'm never really much of a junk food - chips and curls - kind of girl though. It actually amazes me when my hubby buys some every week when we buy groceries. On the other hand, we do fried foods most of the time. It's the easiest thing to cook, and you know me, I'm not the best in the kitchen. :D Being a newly wed has its struggles. Hehehe I'd better make a note regarding this so I can plan our meals better for next week. Ones that are healthier than what we're used to. Thank you for this reminder Jaz. And hey, it's me, swirlz. :D Changed my avatar and name. And I'm happy to learn that your kids are learning to not love unhealthy foods now.

hahahaha it is you!! Took me some time to realize lol as I was wondering who Aoi Hana is. Anyways yes, just bought Quaker Rolled Oats.. it is like rice, whole grain which I love. I just cook like half cup of it in milk hehe Try almond milk! I can remember you eating oatmeal in the morning, I do that with rolled oats, I just add milk banana and a bit of honey. Keeps me full till lunch!!! hehe then I munch on apples (just did) so i am full for most of the day. Yup, kids rarely eat chips now, though they are still tempted but they prefer now bread and rice.

@jazel_juan I love the pre-mixed oatmeal by Quaker, the one with fruits and nuts. I'm going try out the tropical fruits variant if it tastes all right. It's so easy to make, just add hot water hehe I am so lazy at cooking, especially if it's just me who's eating. Hubby on the other hand loves rolled oats instead, so we also have a pack here. I used it last night for breading for my fried pork --- haha just negated the benefits by frying. I'll try almond milk. :) What's it's edge over cow's milk? That's cool! Not only are you eating less, you're eating healthier too. We might have to rethink our usual cake and coffee meetup when I come home next month. :D

@swirlz Oh yeah!!! When you're here, let's still have the usual cake and coffee hhaha cheat meals!! LOL. Well they say both are actually healthy and with high protein. But most stay away from cow's milk since there are farmers who inject hormones and antibiotics which causes complications to humans. eekkk!!!

I wanted to eat clean, but I don't think I'm disciplined enough to do it.
