It is better to have light floors.

Tonight, as I was taking my laptop from the dining room where I use it during the day to my room, I saw with one eye a black (or was it brown?) mass moving. My eyes focused on the light floating floor, my left leg went up and my food smashed the spider. I did not ask it whether it was a brown recluse or not. But I will buy some spider killers to spray the house while I´m on vacations. I would have missed it if the floor was spider brown. And what would I have done alone at home with such a monster? Today I learned something. If I ever buy another house, I will change the floors into light ones, should they be brown recluse colour.

And light color floors can easily be seen if there are dirt and be wiped right away too .

@marguicha And light colored floors seem to make the place look bigger and wider .

I'm sureit would help having a color besides brown. The spiders will blend in with brown floors.

I did not know the brown recluse spider and had to look it up. As a rule I actually like spiders, but would not want such a venomous species in my home.

My floors currently are a light color, but I'd love to change them. I don't know what color I would go with, but I also hadn't thought about the ability to see spiders on my floor. Thankfully all the spiders around here are not dangerous, at least I don't think we have deadly spiders here. As a rule I kill all bugs and spiders that make it in my house but I try to leave the ones outside alive. Unless they crawl onto me. Then I kill it regardless of inside or out.

Sounds a bit like overkill but I guess if you don't like spiders...

It was her ot myself if it was a brown recluse. Besides, how would you kill a moving spider if it wasn´t with your foot cladded with shoes?

you have to change the color of your floor so that you can see what is crawling

My floor is light. That´s why I killed it in spite of my being short sighted

We don't have poisonous spiders in this part of the world so I'm not quite as quick to kill them. Still I'm not thrilled to have them crawling around in my home either.
