Last night my youngest daughter, who is in Grade 9, asked me to wake her up at 4:00 AM for she wanted to study her lessons before going to school at 7:00 AM. Guess what? I wake at 5:30 AM already. I slept very late last night for I was playing Farmville2 . So when I wake her up, she is upset and is a little angry with me. To sum it up, I failed her. Any thoughts ? Photo is my youngest daughter

My thoughts are that she is old enough to set her own alarm.

She sets her alarms but she could hardly wake up by her own even with alarms . So she requested me to help her to wake up early. You know, young ones.

She's a young adult so I think she should be responsible enough to wake up early and not rely on dear mommy to wake her up. Buy her an alarm clock, one of those old-fashioned ones that she can't put on snooze like the alarms in mobile phones.

Maybe it's time for her to wake up by herself with an alarm. So if she wakes up late, she doesn't have you to blame.

@Macarrosel I can understand. I'd feel a little guilty too.

Yes, you're right. It's really time now for she is old enough. And she didn't blame me for she knew it's also here fault for not waking up by herself. But I felt guilty, as her mother too.

It happens so don't be worried. She is old enough to be awake without your help.

@Macarrosel that's great that you are willing to help her but she must learn to stand on her own feet too and learn how to stand on her own two feet so she can study by herself

@Hatley Yes, that's what I always tell here but sometimes she could not do it by herself. She is young, and young ones now a days are too lazy to wake up by themselves early in the morning.

OMG, Mommy, why you forget to wake her up so early? So, it's the fault of Farmville2 that makes you late to wake up from bed and turn to wake up your daughter so late. Just ask sorry and try to explain its because of Farmville2.

Hahahaha. Yes, I blamed it to Farmville2 and I told her about it. Instead of being angry she just laugh at me and said, "Next time don't play FarmVille when I ask you to wake me up."

Being in Grade 9, I think she is old enough to set her own alarm clock herself. Better yet, studying is best done before bedtime.

Yes, you're right but she prefer to study early in the morning. The only problem is she couldnot wake up by herself even with her alarm for she is too dependent on me to wake her up. Actually it's also my fault why she is like that. She is my youngest and all my attention is focus in her.

your youngest daughter is already a young lady as shown in your picture, surely she should set her phone on alarm and not tell you to wake her up. sorry but these are my thoughts. my son is time-conscious since he was in elementary grades. i would wake him up but when he was already in high school, he set his mobile phone on alarm. i wake up to prepare his breakfast, but he wakes up on his own

No, don't be sorry. Yes, you're right. And it's really my fault why she is too dependent on me to wake her up. Her is my youngest and the only daughter that I am able to be a "hands on mom" to her when I retired. My other daughters were taken care of by their yayas because I was still working then. You know what I mean. Well she tried herself not to be too dependent on me now.

I will never agree to anyone asking me to wake them up,my early morning is 9-10 am when not working. Why dont you get your daughter an alarm clock? or maybe get her a phone so she can use the alarm clock on the phone = 2 for 1. Im sure she`s forgiven you.

Your daughter couldn't blame you for all. After all, she was also responsible to it since it is her own study. She could set an alarm clock. When I was a student, I always set an alarm clock and woke up early to study. I didn't want to bother my parents for such kind of things. They had worked much and they needed to a good sleep. And my task was to study.
