Yep, it must be the end o da month, TWC is down for a bit …. It’s 8:15am here …. and even tho I could use my smart phone to try to write something I am still a dummy about that thing . I’m learning but it’ll be a while .
Gee, didn’t I learn anything from watching the Jetsons way back? I shudda known we’d have all these smarty contraptions, right?
Or, was the warning about new fangled contraptions on the Flintstones?
On the bright side; I finally figured out how to send texts with images ….. I’d ben wonderin what that paperclip image was for cheeeeeeeze .
At least I’ve proven old dogs can learn new tricks even if it takes them twice as long . Hey, I even have one over the new generation, I can figure out math problems on a piece of paper , no need for a calculator. Know any kids that can do that? Oh, just to clarify, I never did know the fancy math of todays world but I did like doin the long division .
Now that the internet is down I have all these questions I wanted to ask, betcha I’ll forget by the time we get the web back .
Well, I guess I don’t have any excuses not to clean up round here …………. bummer .

I finally broke down and bought a sylus @sishy7 @mike197602 but still I end up hitting the wrong keys and then to add to the frustration the heel of my palm keeps hitting something and boom all is lost. Damn sensitive dillybob.

@Mike197602 can't even see what I'm typing half of the time as the touch screen keyboard would cover most of my not-so-wide mobile screen...

I'm an old dog and can still do math on a piece of paper (even though I prefer to use a calculator). The new math my grandchildren are learning is beyond anything I can figure out

I hear ya kiddo. I'm thinkin all that new math garbage is due to the new parents wantin their kids to be Einsteins, gimme a break, let kids be kids and just teach what they need to survive with. Higher education will come about if they're interested.

I was just talking to a friend the other day about the way they do math now. It takes my granddaughter longer to figure a problem out than it does me. But I had to memorize addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It is still in my brain all these years later. Now when it comes to the cell phone, I have my son's teach me how to use certain things.

@rebelann The world would end for some. Both of my son's are good in math. Wow, they did take after me in one thing. I know that I would rather add it in my head and have it done. I was helping a friend who was measuring out fabric to sell. She would tell me how many yards and I would figure the price out. A few times she checked my work with the calculator cause she thought I was wrong. She finally quit doing that.

It seems they rely far too heavily on computers to help teach kids. Mom was taught to memorize and she was one heck of a math whiz when it came to adding long lists of numbers in her head. I never did learn how to do that.
I wonder what would happen if computers suddenly had no internet to rely on.

LOl you made me laugh with your statement.. finally figured how to send texts with images and what that paper clip thingy was about.. I agree I can do my math faster than the guy at the cash counter with his calculator.. though I am clueless about trigonometry and such.. went above my head..lol

What a shame @crazyhorseladycx but then kids tend to get busy with life issues once they fly the coup so I suppose it isn't surprising.

@rebelann I have a favorite thrift shop that I give a lot of donations to. I am throwing out a lot of stuff that is not suitable for the shop. I volunteered there for two years so I know exactly what is not wanted there. I leave some things on the free table in the laundromat.

I'll have to check those out @PainsOnSlate I'm into any solitaire and mahjong puzzles. I wish I had friends who liked those kinds of games but most of them are stuck on candy crush or what not.

Yeah, imagine the teens with their flyin cars ..... uhhh, on second thought I don't want to imagine teens with em, they'd just kill more people than they already do. I know that sounds negative but I've seen teens do some really stupid stuff on the roads and how they managed not to cause accidents is beyond me.

@rebelann Most of the accidents that teens get into are when they first begin to drive. Happened to me, too. Just need more experience. Eventually, after something happens, most of them realize the severity of the situation and become a bit more careful.
