It's nice to see them grow

Philippines

I've been looking at this okra plant for a while now, I wasn't sure at first if they were going to grow. Now, I've got two more growing and hopes before the end of the year, they sprout. I seriously didn't think I was going into a little gardening if it wasn't about my own health. You see I wasn't interested in growing vegetables until I've learned about my uric acid problem thing. But I'm happy I've become interest in some plants and vegetables. Perhaps my health won't become wost as time goes by.

I thought i didn't because of what I did in my brother's farm, until i realized the area was infested with ants. I only discovered it this year when I started planting snake plants, then moringa, finally okra...This week I've just transferred a grown papaya plant from pot to the soil area with other plants. I'm literally looking at it everyday as they grow @allen0187 i just can't wait.

I have problems with uric acid, too, due to underactive kidneys. Less meat/protein and more vegetables it is!

It is very easy to plant and grow okra, few months from now it will bear fruit and you can harvest the okra that is good for pinakbet or boiling it with vinegar and a pinch of salt.

@Letranknight2015 Maybe after a month because in our garden, I can start harvesting okra after 50 to 60 days and it depends on how healthy is the okra you've planted.

In these times of sophistication and massive destruction of green trees and agricultural lands for the sake of development, I am happy to know that you make things happen with those plants. Making a garden out of your backyard is in fact very laudable and should be encouraged to most of our countrymen. Growing of plants and vegetables would be great for the environment, not just for our own sake, but for the whole community. May your plants thrive and give you the joy to keep on growing plants. Happy gardening.

Sometimes I wish i was more interested in gardening back then @ValueAdder I was only good at waterning them. Not knowing that I myself have a green thumb. But It's never too late I guess to start raising your own tiny little farm..
