We don't get notified when a post gets deleted?

I wrote a post back in June called "No one minds if we butt in" or something along those lines.
I always though we can jump into a discussion while others are commenting but I found some people get mad and its called hijacking.
I thought it was a pretty important thing I learned that some people so get upset about it.
That post got more comments then any post I have ever written here.
I went back yesterday to look for that post and its gone. I wanted to write down the names of people who will get upset if I hijack their comments.
I never got notified this post of mine was deleted. I always assumed we were notified if a post got deleted.
The only reason I can think it might have got deleted was @daddyevil wrote and showed screenshots of a mylotter who was very angry about him hijacking her comments. I don't want to mention her name because I don't want this post getting deleted.
I spent days responding back to all the comments on that post so I was sad that its gone :-(

Nope. There is no notification when a post is deleted.
I can't say why that post was deleted or when (but you could send a PM to GoAskAlice who may be able to tell you a little more) but I can tell you that you didn't lose any earnings when it was deleted - though I know that that is of little concern in this case!
It is very rarely the case that a post is deleted simply because of someone else's response or comment. It is just as easy (and more effective, usually) to remove the offending response or comment.
Yes, some people don't like it when a response or a comment goes off topic and takes on a life of its own. Personally, I rather enjoy it (though I find all the notifications slightly annoying). Everyone has their own slightly different idea of what MyLot is all about, I suppose!

I am very sorry if something I said or did on your post was the reason it was deleted, shaggin!
I can tell you that if you pm Alex that he will tell you why your post was deleted, if he can remember the post. He has said that before, somewhere.
I just removed several sentences from this response so that there is no way this thread will suffer the same consequences as that one. I will pm you the deleted sentences.
I will also list the myLotters who I know do not care for their threads to be hijacked in that pm.

@shaggin You are probably blaming the right person, though, shaggin.... Again, I am very sorry about that!

I donĀ“t get it, really. Does that mean you cannot go into just any post?

I don't understand the "highjacking" .. how is it possible to highjack a comment? ..
Anyway, I avoid mentioning usernames on my discussions and comments unless my comments are in response to them..

@BelleStarr Thanks for showing an example. I don't mim hijacking at all but I know there are those on mylot who do.

When another person like I am right now, jumps in and comments and other people start commenting on my comment and sometimes it goes way off topic, that is highjacking

@epiffanie I only tag them if I am bringing them into my discussion like Thank you @BelleStarr for explaining. I wrote a post about a hypothetical mylot meetup and tagged a few people who I would love to meet.

i reckon such's a mystery 'nless ya contact the 'powers that be'. i dunno why folks get 'pset, outside 'f what our friend, mr. @owlwings suggests - gettin' notified e'ery time someone else jumps'n can get a bit'n the nerves 't times when y'ave nothin' to add :)

Yes it's annoying, I've had a few posts deleted without reason or warning.

Too bad they couldn't have just deleted the comments that they didn't like. I have been trying to remember certain people who don't want their discussions "hijacked". I have forgotten all but one. I don't want to annoy them if I can remember. But discussions that go all over the place are the most fun!
