Unique Childrens Names

United States

I always wanted a unique name, my name always seemed so ordinary. So I always wanted to give my children unique names. My eldest son's name is Guard. My husband (who isn't my eldest sons dad) wouldn't let me name my second son anything unique, same with our daughter. I named her after a Disney character, which people do comment about it being pretty from time to time. If it was up to just me, she would of been named Winter Sky. Does anyone have any unique names they've named their children, or wished they would have named their children, or picked out for the future children? Or perhaps any different named they've never heard before?

There is this kid who was born during political violence in my country and was named, Teargas, in memory of that worst moment.

Hi. I would have named my youngest child staycee raneece instead wound up being Tara lynne. Since then I have called her Tara or just Lynn. My sons name is Randall Leroy. He goes by Randy. I did have an e at the very end of his middle name but his father went and changed it. My oldest daughters name was Angela(angie)Her middle name was spelled Mari. My spelling of the name of marie. I have a sister who named her one daughter Keshia Lashia May.

I always hear strange names given to babies of celebrities... One came to mind right now, Nicole Kidman's daughter is named Sunday Rose... It's pretty and all but sounds too close to Sunday roast...

I have little creativity when it comes to unique girl names. If I had a girl I'll call her Sophia. If I had a boy, a name such as Attila, if twins Hannibal and Hasdrubal. Or something ending with -us: Augustus, Lucius, Severus, Saurus. However my boyfriend wants to choose the boy name, so I'm left with a simple Sophia. I like Guard, it's sounds perfect for the eldest son!

No, We named our children ordinary names, I didn't want them to be singled out at school with peculiar names. Children can be cruel to their class mates.
