Oreo Churros

I believe I have come across a snack food that all stoners would love to have in their freezers for when the munchies hit them.
Oreo churros, yup, thats right. Oreo churros is a mixture of the loveable cookie snack food known as Oreo cookies and the traditional mexican fried dough pastry snack, the Churro.
I love eating churros once in a long while. Who wouldnt like a strip of fried dough rolled in sugar and cinnamon as a snack?
I've also had my share of Oreo cookies in the past and all I have to say
is mmmmmm !
But the combination of the two does not at all tempt me to want to try the amalgam love child of the two snacks. I can't even begin to pretend what it would taste or smell like. I don't even want to phantom what taste the cream filling would have, let alone the probable smell!
Would I still be able to dip it into a glass of milk like a cookie?
Can I still taste the sugar and cinnamon of the churro?
Just from the concept, I can say it's not for me, maybe it is for you.

Hmmm... I've never heard of, let alone eaten a churro. I do really like Oreo cookies, though.
I am willing to try one, just to see if it is any good. (If you don't try new things, you might miss out on the one thing you never knew you needed/wanted! I can't imagine deciding I won't like something because it might not look/taste/feel like something else.)
Churros (according to what I just read) don't look or taste like Oreo cookies. Oreo cookies don't look or taste like churros. Why would you worry whether it will taste like one or the other? It should taste like its own kind of snack. (Possibly a blending of the two flavors, but you never know and won't know until you try one.)
So, I haven't seen those here in Missouri, yet. So are you inviting us all down to your house for a meet-and-greet so we can all try them? (We can all pitch in on the food and drinks.)
Edit to add: I haven't seen @vandana7 yet today. I thought I would find her here on your discussion. I am positive she would like Oreo cookies, but I don't know if she has ever tried them.
No matter... I will send my friends to go fetch her and bring her to this discussion, Plethos. She'll come, or they will snag her with their big mouths and sharp teeth and drag her over here! (LOL! This is an in-joke. vanny is deathly afraid of sharks. She refuses to go across the oceans because she thinks the sharks will eat her! I keep telling her my friends won't eat her! She is too tough for them to chew! )
vanny... I was going to wait for you here, but I have to go help a friend select a new cell phone and then set if up for her. I have no idea how long teaching her how to use it will take. She is a technophobe. (Not as bad as you, but still, bad enough!)
I will be back to myLot as quickly as I can manage.

Trying to get rid of those kilos...at least a few ...target date...18 September. One of my cousins (who is a doctor) is coming from the US. His wife looks like she has not had a meal for years on. Churros are wonderful when freshly-made, I first sampled them in Spain some years ago. Oreos, well - I much prefer a chocolate digestive biscuit, or a Cadbury's Snack Sandwich biscuit.

@DaddyEvil churros have cinnamon and sugar. think of it as a cinammon bon(roll) long like a rope and then rolled in sugar and cinnamon. they are usually between 8 to 12 inches in length.

LOL! I thought you might be, Crazy! (But you have eaten fresh churros before, haven't you?)
Do you think the mix of Oreos with churros would be a good taste?
Hmmm... spongecakes with creme filling are moist but not soggy. I have no frame of reference to guide me in whether the creme filling would make these new cookies soggy or not.

I would tend to agree: Churros and Oreos - ne'er the twain should meet... And thanks to @DaddyEvil for the suggestion, I shall go read his opinion in this weird-sounding combo...

LOL! Not much opinion, since I haven't encountered a churro before, pgn. Sorry to disappoint you like that!
I just told Plethos that I emailed the head of marketing for my area and ask if our stores were scheduled to start selling those new cookies. I don't know if he will know the answer or if he will tell me the answer if he does know it. I will let people know if he gets back to me and if so, what he says about them.

@Plethos Uhm... dang! You just made me start drooling, Plethos! (I've eaten both of those before and liked them... Well, actually I don't care for fish very much, but if it is fixed right, I will tear it up, too!) I'm hungry, now!
Thanks a lot!

Some questions for you, Elizabeth... Did you ever try a churro? What is its texture? Is it a hard cookie or a soft one?
Thank you for answering me in advance. I do appreciate it!

@DaddyEvil - texture is comparable to that of a regular glazed donut. not as light but almost. sprinkle some cinnamon on a fresh baked sugar donut and youll have a slight idea to the churro phenomena .

Yeah, someone must be a very bad man if he suggested you should come on this discussion, vanny! Would you like me to help you find whoever did that to you?
If I ever get to try one of these, I will make sure to send a new pack of them clear to India for you to try one with me! (Don't worry! By the time I find some, your relatives will already be on their way back to the United States and you can re-gain the 100 lbs you lost before they arrived! (teasing and grinning at you!))

So would you open up the churro and eat the filling first?
I love churros - and sometimes Oreos too - but an Oreo Churro is just a little too much for me. My kids love both snacks . . . but I just showed them your photo here and even they said "Yuck!"

I saw this yesterday on twitter and it didn't attract me one bit. I like oreos too and i love churros...but the combination of both, doesn't appeal to me.

That is good to know, Toni! You are in the minority of people who have tried both type of cookie. Most of us have no idea how one or the other taste, so can't make an informed decision to try them or not.
Thanks for your input, hon!

I'd be willing to share with you, Jess! LOL!
I am trying to decide which of my Mexican friends I would trust to fix churros for me without deciding to play a prank on me with them... I am having a lot of trouble picking the one I trust the most...
Honestly, I am very careful not to put temptation for an easy prank in anyone's path. We are all prone to see who will fall for a good prank.
So it is really my own fault if the one I choose decides on having fun instead of (or in addition to) fixing the churros correctly. (shrug! Birds of a feather flock together, you know!)
Uhm... would you be willing to take the first bite? Please?

@Plethos I don't know. I wouldn't say it's overly sweet, but if you like Oreos, you may like this. My niece has only made them twice, and everyone got one from each batch. I didn't dip it in the sugar stuff she had because I don't need it for anything Oreo lol.
