I haven't been doing activities with my children, though we are going to the park every day. I hope we can resume our weekly activities. I told my children we are going to do something this week, and they are excited about it. This is my plan for the week: Theme for the week: Bird - perhaps we will learn more about owls, as my children like owl Tuesday: modeling - my son suggested we make some noodles ourselves, and also Chinese steamed buns (mantou). I also plan to use the modeling beewax to build something, perhaps owls. Wednesday: watercolor painting Thursday: handwork - weaving with straws Friday: cooking - my son wants to fry pancake as it's our pancake day, though I'd like to bake a cake if possible. Hope I will be able to find some time to do these activities together with my children. Do you have any plans for this week? Picture: My children were making the noodles.

You are a very good mother . You plan ahead activities you think would be beneficial to your growing children . Keep it up ! But maybe you also plan for yourself. Hey, where's the hubby ?

Thanks! I always try to make some plans, but not every time the plan is carried out nicely. Glad that my children can always find things to play or do on their own, so they are always busy. I plan to do yoga practice every morning. I have done my 7th day yoga, hope I can continue to make it every day. I do plan for myself, lots of work and housework to do. But I am always trying to catch some sleep or spending too much time online. My husband is always spending time with the kids, taking care of the baby and doing housework too. He is cooking for lunch everyday too. As I need to nurse the baby or take some rest, so he is doing lots of work besides his own work.

Oh how fun!! Can we come over too ? Wow, are they making real edible noodles there? I have been thinking to make homemade noodles for the longest time but never did. This week, thus far, we are still busy trying to get into routine as school started last week. My oldest goes to a different school, so there is extra driving for us. There is still tae kwon do and swimming - among some school events later this week. But now I want to fit in making noodles!

I wish I can invite you to my house and let the kids have fun together too. I hope I will be able to make it, as it might not be easy when I need to carry my baby around and let him sleep in the afternoon, especially when my husband is not around. Yes, those noodles are edible. It's really very easy to do, I never thought it is so easy too. My way of making it is mix 100g flour with 1 egg, 200g with 2 eggs, etc. Knead the dough, then use the noodle maker to make the noodles. I just add some flour if it's too watery, and add water if it's too dry. When I did not have the noodle maker, I used knife to cut the dough into strips. Of course, it's easier if we have the noodle maker. I think kids really like to play with the dough and the noodle maker too. Your kids' schools started already? I read some schools start in August, and some in September. Hope your oldest will enjoy the new school, though traveling can be quite tiring. Yes, schedule some time to make the noodles. It's fun, though it can be quite messy too. I read online you can also mix the flour with other ingredients, I tried with tomato juice, it tastes good too. It's actually my daughter wanted to mix with tomato juice. Hope you'll get to make it, and have fun! I will see if I can make steamed buns tomorrow. I haven't been making it since last year.

@kaka135 That would be fun to have the kids get together . . . and as a fellow mom I could be helping you out with things too as you tend to the baby!! Wow, is that all that goes into the noodles? How do you serve them . . . with soup or just plain noodles? We do not have a pasta cutter gadget . . . I should look into it although like you said a knife could do the trick too. I'm sure we would have to dedicate an entire table top for such a project ! Yah, the kids started school just 2 weeks ago. We started this August thing a few years ago - most people here would rather we go back to the old way to start in September. It is an extra drive in the morning, but luckily not too much further. The problem is morning traffic! My daughter is enjoying middle school - feeling more independent and motivated to do her best in school (let's hope she keeps this up ). The little one is in 1st grade and enjoying it now. I've never made steamed buns. Is it those white ones? I love those - and I love the meat filled ones too. My husband's ex-wife was Chinese, and when we went over to their house one evening, she hand made those char shu baos in front of us . . . she said she is the point where she could make them with her eyes closed ! Ok, so now I shall be looking up online information on noodles . . . Hope you have gotten to check off each plan on your list for this week!

When we don't have a few plans we don't get much done at all. :) This is a good idea of yours.
