Trying to Fit Everything In

August 25, 2016 9:40am CST
The days are just not long enough for all the things I want to do. I have super awesome amazing books that are taking me forever to read, TV shows going unwatched, Journals to make, and work in, a baby blanket to finish , Postcards to send, people to visit, closets to clean, trips to take..... Here it is, Thursday and I'm just getting back to myLot. One of my favorite places to be. I've decided I should get a planner ..but. Here's the thing. I just can't paint because it's 2:30 on Friday. I like to do things when I'm in the mood. When I'm painting or start making pocket letters, I might keep going until late in the night. The schedule goes right out the window. Are you a scheduler or a fly by the seat of your pants kind of person?

Oh I am definitely a fly by the seat of my pants kind of gal. I just take it as it comes and worry about it then. I have tried the schedule thing but it just doesn't work for me. I am not the organized. You certainly have a lot on your plate. Hope you can balance it all out!

I am halfway. I have always been good at planning ahead, but do not bother so much since I retired.

A very spur of the moment person. Planning a vacation two months ahead of time worries me. What if I'm sick?

@Jeanniemaries I am happy to organise a holiday a couple of days in advance. Of course it is a long while since I actually went anywhere.

I try to schedule but things rarely stay on anything like a regular course for me

Yes, it's hard for me to plan way ahead because I like to be available for spur of the moment things.

I've never used a planner or a schedule just because I think it's not realistic for me. My routine and priorities vary every day. I do admire people who have a set daily/weekly timetable and manage to stick to it though.

I do too, but I'm just too spontaneous. I'm thinking a planner might help though to remind me what I plan to do. I do add appointments on my phone calendar purely for the reminders.

@Jeanniemaries Yes I do set reminders on my phone too. It does help a lot.

@cahaya1983 In some ways I miss my wall calendar. I always kept them as a diary, but I stopped buying them because I never used them anymore.

I have no schedule and do everything when the urge hits. I have to make sure I paint and keep the stores filled so I can make real money so often it takes me weeks to catch up here on myLot.

I like it that you aren't concerned about changing your scheduled activities when you want to. Flexibility is my middle name.

I have to do things pretty much on a schedule or I get anxiety. I can't usually just go with the flow. I have a book I would like to finish but mylot is more fun.

I have schedules, but I like to think that they're not set in stones...

That made me laugh, I am sooo much like that! Very few things I plan are set in stone and it's a phrase I use a lot!

I tend to fly by the seat of my pants. But with all of the music gigs happening these days, I have to write everything down.

I do a little of both. I schedule the important things and sort of let the rest happen when it happens. It keeps life interesting.

Scheduler. I don't want changes in my plans because it will ruin my appointments for the week.
