What is the one advice you would give to someone who is new to mylot? I would advise that it would be best to try not to engage in discussions just because of the money you will earn. Because at the end of the day, good quality interactions with your fellow mylotters would be much more fulfilling and at the same time would generate more interactions which in turn make more money. How about you veteran mylotters? Your advices are most welcome.

my advice would be to relax...we are here for a good conversation, Try to think about a good topic that can be discussed...everything else will fall into place.

I would tell them to find the rules and read them carefully before they do something that is not allowed here. People like @owlwings below bend over backwards to help but if the new-be doesn't pay attention and figure it out there is a good chance they will have discussions removed or worse, they might be removed from the site.

I would say that it's important to be interested in people, and leave genuine well thought out responses on other people's posts. And just have fun.

I'd tell newcomers that the amount of money they can earn here is ridiculous. If they've come only for the money, they won't last long.

I would say respond to all comments and read articles of other mylotters and just have fun doing it.

I think the best advice is if you are not making money right away stick with it. It takes awhile for people to get to know you and to start to respond to your discussions.

I agree. Just be patient and eventually, people will interact with you more which in return pay more money. The new algorithm seems to be that way, it seems to value interactions more than just typing

True. Don't expect too much on the first try. Once you get the hang of it and you are patient, you would receive payout soon.

Well, just enjoy Mylot. Don't expect to earn a high amount of money monthly. Participate. Be active. Follow the guidelines always. Be friendly.

@lealuvy2j Yes, I have encountered such things in here. Just ignore those comments.

I especially like the be friendly part. Some mylotters are very opinionated that it borders to being annoying. This in turn turns off mylotters that are willing to respond to them. This is a very good advice.

I would say to take the time and effort to respond to all of your comments and not just because you like some and not not others, after all readers take the time and effort to type in the response, hope you like it here

I try to at least "like" the response. Because sometimes I have a hard time responding to all the comments. Hopefully the "like" would be a symbol that I appreciate their responses.

Work at your own pace. No pressure. Show courtesy and respond to those who are gracious enough to find your discussions and interact with you. Try to return the favor by visiting their discussions and commenting as well. Check the New User Discussions from time to time to welcome new members and make them feel comfortable here.

I particularly like the checking of New User Discussion in Explore button. It is a great idea to make new members feel welcome. The success of mylot depends on everyone of us.

@lealuvy2j,Yes,that's the best advice for newbies.I'd tell them that they are on a site that's all about interaction.I'd tell them that their discussions would not receive responses if they don't interact.
