John Grisham is great, at least he writes his own books. He has had a few duds and his new stuff isn't as good as the old stuff in my opinion...but I still have every book he's published...including the Theodore Boone young adult ones, I quite enjoyed them

@Mike197602 I agree his later novels have been wane. I have read the Theodore Boone series and find them a bit too politically charged.

I do enjoy reading James Patterson but I just can't keep up with all of his books! There are some authors that I love waiting for the newest book to come out. The waiting is a critical time for me. With Patterson, we don't really get that waiting time because he just cranks them out constantly. But at least his books are fast reads, so when I do get my hands on a few, I can read them very fast!

he cranks them out fast because he doesn't even write them anymore...he gets others to do so. His name is big on the cover but just look at his last ten books...they all say written with xxxxxx...he's a brand now not an author.

I keep saying this here, I have GOT to get back to reading. I'm watching too many shows! I'll get James Patterson's new one for sure. Both he and John Grisham are good at those crime and courtroom thrillers. I'm definitely a fan of his.

Not a fan. I tried. It wasn't to be. I'll probably come back to both him and Grisham in a few years and try again.

I used to be a fan of his early work. Now I never buy his books for 2 main reasons. The chapters are too short...annoyingly short. Secondly...he doesn't even write his own books anymore. Just look at his last ten or twenty books...Says James Patterson in big letters but underneath it says with xxxxx...he gets others to write his books as James Patterson is now more of a brand than an author.
